Why do you think Kerry-Edwards are drawing enormous crowds? |
|
I'm curious why DUers think this is happening. Maybe this is the best measure of where Kerry's bounce is - on the ground, among real people.

1. Because Lolapolooza canceled tour this summer |
|
Which leaves Kerry-Edwards as, by far, the most exciting road show of the summer.

Hopefully most people realize that they can't get an accurate picture from the corporate media.
I hope the public is that astute.

There are literally millions of us. People who for one reason or another never took an active part in the democratic process who are now coming forward, making their faces present. I think by the time this election is over it will be a phenomenon: a surprising voter turnout from out of nowhere.

7. I think you are right that it is the best measure of Kerry's bounce. |
|
A lot of people have slowly been coming to the realization that Bush must be fired. That is the first decision voters make when an incumbent is running for re-election. The second decision is about the challenger. The people going to see Kerry have decided that he is capable and should replace Bush and they want to be able to say that they saw the next president of the United States.

8. Because people don't like the direction Bush is taking the country. |
|
Unprovoked wars.
A sputtering economy.
Funneling billions of dollars of no-bid contracts to your cronies' companies.
Constant lying.
Constant fear.
Knowing that our standing in the world has dropped markedly under the present administration.
You get the idea.

9. People Were Energized by Kerry and DNC - |
|
for many people, heard people saying what they have been feeling - are fed up and want to see/hear Kerry and Edwards.
I am convinced this turnouts represent the real poll. These people flocking to Kerry are hungry for leadership and change. They want complete sentences, they want, an intelligent, thoughtful leader who sees that issues are sometimes complex.

10. I wanted my kids to see the next President and VP of the USA! |
|
When I was a kid and Nixon happened to go through my town all us grade schoolers had to stand on the street to watch the limo go by. Now we really didn't have a choice but we got out of school and got to see the President. How cool is that? I'll never forget that day. (OK, he was a repuke but we kids didn't know any better)
Well, my kids wanted to go to the rally. Hopefully their memories thirty years hence will be of a great Dem Pres and VP who saved their country from the evil Bush and Cheney.
