Obama supporters I am really disappointed in some of you
As a disclaimer this doesn't apply to every Obama supporter here, but it applies to a fair share of you. I also realize that my opinion probably doesn't mean shit to most of you but I would just like many of you to know that your opinon used to mean a lot to me.

Whatever.

It would help. Too open ended.

4. Refrencing a similar thread directed at Hillary supporters.
Don't see a need for any of this anymore, really. The nomination is all but decided. No need for sore losers or sore winners, IMO.

7. I saw a similar thread but it gave a reason why they felt that way.
That's why I requested clarification. I gather disappointment with that thread then?

10. I'd love to see the BS stop
Unfortunately it continues on, spurred forward by a mob mentality that brings out the worst in people. In a mob people forget how to treat others and their manners go out the door. They say things they never would say if they were standing alone.

Edited on Tue May-13-08 11:15 AM by Jake3463
have been equally as bad and there are very few of us who haven't thrown a few bombs in the past 3 months.

No one is innoccent so these threads piss me off from both sides.

"DUmp" forum that you like to go to. You guys continue to plan your spamming activities there.

11. Hillary supporters have the same right as you do to be here
No one is off planning "spamming activities". You might want to take off the tin foil hat.

Perhaps you haven't noticed, but Obama supporters outnumber Hillary supporters like 30 to one....or perhaps alot more by now. Where are these grand spamming campaigns you are so sure they have been plotting?

Excuse me if I find your pretending to be a victim a bit pathetic.

21. First I logged on to that competing site...
and saw with my own eyes those bragging about spamming here.

Second, your right Obama supporters out number Hillary supporters here 30 to 1...yet amazingly half the posts in GDP are still ANTI-Obama (few are actually pro-Hillary)

And this of course proves my point.

Third, Clinton supporters have no right to criticize Obama supporters of playing the vitim card because...

It's Clinton supporters who are constantly railing about the sexist(excuse me misogynistic) attacks that Hillary has had to endure from the Dean, Pelosi, Richardson, Olbermann, Kerry, the DNC rules, party activists, Kennedy, and the vast majority of other progressive and Democratic peoples. Yes, I am tired of hearing about the grand plot between progressives to force the rightful royality....excuse me Hillary out of the race. lol Clinton supporters aren't just wearing the tin foil hats... you folks are mass producing them.

24. Uhh... this is DEMOCRATIC underground...
So, all these Clinton supporters who post links to right wing sites and faux left wing sites (Marsh, 44, Clintonforum, and other sites that are pushing for McCain donations now) don't belong here. Using right wing sources to attack the Democratic nominee doesn't belong here.

And in my personal opinion people who go to a site that has forums dedicated to spamming DU and refers to DU as the "DUmp" don't belong here.

I on the other hand have donated to the Democratic nominee, plan to vote for the democratic nominee, and plan on campaining for the Democratic nominee should in fact belong here on a site that supports the Democratic nominee. Thank you.

12. So is Glen Ford, progressive editor of Black Agenda Report & co-founder of Black Commentator
Definitely NOT happy with Obama maniacs:

http://www.blackagendareport.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=586

Points out how irrational they can be, how unaware of Obama's real record and positions, how determined to project their dreams onto Obama and to viciously attack anyone who disagrees with him.

He sees the same projection going on with white liberals/progressives who seem unaware Obama isn't really a progressive:

28. There's no question that zeal for the candidates has led to characterizations that don't match ....
... the record and positions taken by those candidates. I see it on both sides. Both candidates are disturbingly centrist/moderate in their policy positions and voting records. There's very little daylight between them. A few very key votes by Hillary, and the campaign she's run, are the tie-breakers for me. The 'frosting' is the ephemeral nature of the support for Obama ... and the fact that he's honored it. (So far.)

13. I just had to respond here to a Clinton supporter calling Obama a Muslim
Do you expect flowers and candy after that? There's a number of Hillary supporters that are racist pigs. I've seen it first hand over at Taylor Marsh and Hillary is 44.

It's more hidden here but it's popped out from time to time recently and then they get banned (Jackson Dem comes to mind)

You disappoint me for not recognizing what's coming out from your side and how that would influence people's reactions.

18. This reminds me
of people who argue that there's no such thing as Anthropogenic Global Warming.

I present the facts and say that the science has been proven beyond a doubt. They turn around and claim that the science has been disproven beyond a doubt... the only difference?

They have no facts.

They somehow think that making the same claim as their "opponents" makes their argument just as valid. Unfortunately they seem to have no concept of the idea of supporting their position.

Again, I don't have a big problem with Clinton except for the obviously underhanded, irresponsible, and stupid things she and her campaign have done (which are proven), but her supporters not only seem to be blind to her transgressions, they pretend that Obama has committed worse with nothing to back it up.

Then we get threads like this one, where a Clinton person somehow thinks that an unreasoned, unsupported response to an Obama supporter's substantive thread is somehow 'valid'.

Well, like the AGW denialists who think that simply saying it's not true makes it untrue, this thread fails.

25. Prime example of people talking past each other
Edited on Tue May-13-08 11:10 AM by cornermouse
and never connecting as they merrily careen on their way to wherever it is you think you're going.

I think Evergreen Emerald didn't supply any examples because (1) there are too many examples to really point at just one and (2) in a way it hurts to point at someone that you used to respect and admire.

Meanwhile I'm sitting here looking at military helicopters flying overhead where they never used to come, thinking about the fuel they're wasting while flying overhead, and wondering what the heck is going on and whether Obama is actually strong enough to stop it because all campaign plotting aside he hasn't shown much resolution or strength yet; worrying about healthcare for the family because Obama's plan is much less than universal or satisfactory; wondering how I'm going to heat the house next winter; wondering whether we're already in a depression but everyone's too afraid to say it because it might collapse the entire economy; wondering if Bush and Cheney have been siphoning off the nation's oil reserves along with the treasury; wondering how many more of us are going to lose our jobs.

26. I'm an Obama supporter and I feel the same way
There are assholes on both sides here, and it's really disappointing. Whenever I post a thread that does not insult anyone, it sinks fast, while the threads that provoke flame wars stay on top for days. I think some Obama supporters have said things that are sexist or otherwise demeaning and I have tried to call them out. Sometimes I go overboard and people think I'm a Clinton supporter in disguise...the only person who told me they put me on ignore was a fellow Obama supporter!

31. It's the Clintophobes. They're determined to make DU as miserable a place to be as possible.
Edited on Tue May-13-08 12:03 PM by Perry Logan
It's not Obama supporters who are befouling the place. It's the Clintophobes (who are, obviously, a natural subset of the Obama camp).

People comment all the time on how low the Clinton-bashers go. They even toss their anti-Hillary turds into otherwise friendly threads, thus insuring that pro-Hillary readers will be aggravated and miserable whenever they come here.

They clearly hate most of their fellow Democrats and want to spread divisiveness everywhere. They can't lay their hatred aside for even a minute. They are sorry excuses for Democrats.
