You know what? I'm tired.
I'm tired of fighting over who is the most homophobic.

I'm tired of fighting over which candidate has been sleazier.

I'm tired of fighting over which candidate went into the gutter first.

I'm tired of fighting over which candidate lies more.

And I'm mostly tired of exchanging insults with people I used to admire and respect.

What the Hell has happened to us? Really? I have people on ignore for insulting me who I've been friends with for seven years. I've insulted people I greatly respect. Every time I see a low post count I assume they're a sock puppet of someone who's been banned.

I don't like what I've become here, lately.

So now I'm done. Seriously. If someone feels the need to post something outrageous about my candidate then that's what they need to do. If someone can't help themselves from insulting me for supporting a Democrat for president, then go for it.

I'm taking everyone off of ignore tonight and I'm going to pretend that we're all Democrats who are all working for the same goal - equality for everyone and poverty for no one.

To anyone who can't understand what I'm talking about. I'm sorry. I'm truly, honestly sorry.

2. I never said that.
INGREDIENTS

* 6 tablespoons butter or margarine, divided
* 1 onion, chopped
* 1 cup dried bread crumbs
* 1 cup evaporated milk, divided
* 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
* 1 egg, beaten
* 1 teaspoon salt
* 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
* 1 pinch dried parsley
* 1 1/2 teaspoons all-purpose flour
* 1 tablespoon tomato sauce
* ground nutmeg to taste

DIRECTIONS

1. Melt 3 tablespoons butter or margarine in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and saute for 5 to 10 minutes, or until tender.
2. In a separate medium bowl, combine the bread crumbs with 2 tablespoons of evaporated milk and stir, allowing the crumbs to absorb the milk. Add the ground beef, onion, egg, salt, ground black pepper and parsley to taste. Mix well and form into golf ball sized meatballs.
3. Heat remaining butter or margarine in the same skillet over medium to medium high heat and add the meatballs. Carefully shake the skillet to turn the meatballs, as needed. Saute for 10 to 15 minutes, or until meatballs are browned on all sides. Transfer the meatballs to a serving platter, reserving the liquid in the skillet.
4. Add the flour to the skillet and stir until smooth. Then gradually add the evaporated milk, tomato sauce and nutmeg to taste; again stirring until mixture is warmed, smooth and creamy. Strain over meatballs.

Side note: I usually mix either ground lamb or pork with the beef for a richer texture and flavor.

Cindy and I have been trading stolen recipes for years. I give her my recipe for bourbon pecan chicken and she gives me her recipe for an authentic eight ball. :evilgrin:

11. Then hate this!
Bourbon Pecan Chicken

INGREDIENTS

* 1/2 cup finely chopped pecans
* 1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
* 8 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
* 1/4 cup clarified butter, melted
* 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
* 1/4 cup dark brown sugar
* 2 2/3 tablespoons bourbon whiskey
* 2 tablespoons soy sauce
* 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
* 3/4 cup unsalted butter, chilled and cut into small cubes
* 1/2 cup sliced green onions

DIRECTIONS

1. Stir together the pecans, bread crumbs, and 2 tablespoons of clarified butter. Spread the mixture out on a plate. Press the chicken breasts into the mixture to coat on both sides. Heat the remaining 2 tablespoons of clarified butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Place the coated chicken breasts in the pan, and fry on both sides until nicely browned and chicken meat is cooked through, about 10 minutes per side.
2. In a small saucepan, whisk together the Dijon mustard, brown sugar, bourbon, soy sauce, and Worcestershire sauce until smooth. Bring to a simmer over medium-low heat, then remove from the burner, and whisk in the 3/4 cup of unsalted butter one piece at a time. Do not return to the heat.
3. Arrange the chicken breasts on a large serving plate. Pour the sauce over the chicken, and sprinkle with green onion.

If you can hate me after trying this, then you're made of stone.

24. Hate this too:
White Beans.

One pound of small white beans.

One half pound of applewood smoked bacon.

Three cloves of garlic.

Cut the bacon into half inch lengths, fry until golden brown. retain the bacon grease.

Bring beans to boil, add 3 cloves of garlic, finely chopped,

add bacon and 1/2 of the bacon grease, simmer until tender.

Serve with Sweet tea, or a beer of choice.

3. I'm tired, too. I've worked 7 days a week for the last 9 weeks
And I've had about enough.

The politics stuff, yeah, I can see that it's tiresome.

But work, while it cleanses the soul, deserves some down time.

And I need it.

I can't find any more excuses to exchange hateful remarks with people I've posted with for seven years. If you can, then perhaps you're just stronger than I am.

20. I feel for ya...
Some days are better than others, but at this point I just want this done so we can go after the real opponent. I tell ya what, I posted a couple threads tearing up people who claim they won't support Obama or won't support Hillary should they become the nominee. Those have been fun, it's like picking on Republicans again. Plus both of the threads I did this week got over 300 recs. They provided some hope that we will mostly come together when this is all over..

21. I know most of us will come together when the primaries are over.
I'm just not very proud of us as a group right now - myself included.

I let myself sink into the mire and there was no excuse for it.

But thanks. Your posts have always been a notch above.
