Hillary takes on Student Loan problem in KY - good ideas |
|
I really like what she had to say yesterday on this issue. I hope that the Democrats CAN get the student loan sharks out of the pool. Between my daughter and myself -- our loan debt, we could almost buy a condo somewhere! It's disgraceful. And she's in a field where she is never going to get rich. Me either.
Would you like fries with that?

2. Student loans are dispicable |
|
The shift of focus from Pell grants to student loans was single handedly responsible for the inflationary boom of college costs in America. Further, this mass privatization of debt has led to the weakness of the dollar in today's global market.

3. I have to agree with you |

What is despicable is the middlemen in the process. They need to go.
And people will soon wonder why the younger generations can't afford to even buy a first home, what with combined student loan debt of over $100K?
Still think the housing market will recover? I don't, not anytime soon.

4. The GOP idea of a student loan... |
|
...is telling young folks without the money for college that if they only visit their local recruiting station they can go to college after a a few tours in Baghdad -- if they survive physically and psychologically, that is, and don't come back in a flag-draped coffin. This is nowhere more evident than in the inner cities, among minorities and Appalchians. You won't see recruiters, like a flock of vultures, hovering around the private schools and upper class neighborhoods. If the kids of the privileged had to serve just to go to college, this war would have been over years ago!
Reminds me of the time in this country where you could pay to have another man take your place. That's what's happening here.
