I Think Hillary Will Be the Veep and I Think The Deal Has Already Been Struck |
|
Mark my words...
Hillary will suspend her campaign, possibly tonight.
An Obama/Clinton ticket will be announced, possibly tomorrow in Florida.
Stay tuned......

it's the smart poltical move for both Obama and the Democratic Party as a whole.
Just so long as Hillary Clinton would take the spot. Obama would have to guarantee her a lot more than just the constitutional role, though.

There is no way in hell they would ever be on the ticket. Period.
This Primary battle was not only about Barack against Hillary but also the Progressives vs. the DLC. Many in the Democratic Party have had it up to here with the DLC and there "be in the middle" mantra.
Progressives have won the day and there is no way in hell he would put her on the ticket.

And she is the PERFECT Veep candidate because she already has the repuation as an attack dog.
Plus, it makes her the heir apparent for 2016 when she'll be 68, which is an incredibly young age for women (who still outlive men).
It's perfect.

Their policy differences maybe on the surface a dime thick but their are VERY REAL differences to who their backers are. Clinton is all about big money backers and corporations where Obama is centered on mass donations from voters.
Put it this way, if their was little to no difference between the two then why haven't Clinton's big money backers just simply slide on over to Obama's side, but are instead bribing Super delegates. If their policies are the same then why bother bribing super delagates for a lost cause.
They might be close on policy but they are immeasurably apart on how they see this world.

Obama has not thrown the kitchen sink at Hillary. If she's his VP, the republicans will focus more on Hillary than Obama. Every single "new" scandal that has been brewing since the Clintons left the White House will be brought up.
It will be the Bill and Hillary roadshow from now until the election.
We're trying to get away from that nonsense. What was the point of this whole primary season if we're just going to end up with the same triangulating Clintons taking over everything?

People are taking them both being in Florida as a conciliatory gesture, however I haven't read anywhere that they intend to appear together. I interpret Clinton going to Florida as well as an adversarial gesture, in attempt to remain relevant and in the news cycle. I think that Hillary truly believes (wrongly in my opinion) that Obama can't win the GE, and as such I don't think she is going to drop out or join a ticket with him, until she is voted out at the convention.
