HILLARY!
"YOU...SHALL NOT...PASS!"

PLEASE. Some Party Elder STOP HER NOW. As I gathered from her speech last night (here: http://journals.democraticunderground.com/berni_mccoy/336 ) and as confirmed by MacAullif just now on MSNBC (here: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x6059141 ) SHE IS GOING TO THE CONVENSION FLOOR WITH THIS.

She needs to be stopped. She will needlessly ruin the party's chances to take back the White House. She will ultimately lose this battle and so will the party. The only winner in her contesting this nomination will be the GOP and John McCain.

Say good bye to Roe v. Wade. Say hello to YEARS more of War, Death, Poverty and Corruption.

Hillary is not a Democrat if she does this.

1. Calm down. She isn't going to the convention.
Edited on Wed May-21-08 10:26 AM by GarbagemanLB
She isn't stupid. She knows that she now has a powerful position within the party. Going to the convention and fighting will only cause her to become an outcast in the party and do away with all her hard work.

18. And exactly which face was he using when he made this comment?
McAuliffe changes his tune more frequently than most people change their underwear.

5. She feels she owes it to her loyal supporters to play it through till the end in June.
She has changed her tone with regards to Obama, and she has been talking more and more about unity. Her aides have admitted it is over. There are only 3 contests left, and then all the voters will have spoken. Again, she has a legacy to worry about. Taking it to the convention will almost guarantee a Democratic loss in November, and she WILL be blamed for it. It is in her interest to work for a Democratic victory in November.

8. No she isn't stupid.
But that does not mean that she isn't completely caught-up inside of her faith-based reality -- where she will get a victory somehow in the end.

She and her minions are sounding more like the way Bush and Cheney and McCain and Lieberman talk about the Iraq war and occupation -- victory will come! It is destiny!

Just go look at the comments at the People's Temple of Hillary web sites (HillaryClinton.com/blog and Hillaryis44 ... there is some serious Messianic psychosis going on among some of her supporters.

"Rise Hillary Rise!"

It is just creepy.

26. I'm clinging to the "IF" -- If the states want her to go that far --
Hoping the superdelegates and some other delegates from the states concerned will convince her to support the candidate with the most delegates.

BOCA RATON, Fla. (AP) - Hillary Rodham Clinton says she is willing to take her fight to seat Florida and Michigan delegates to the convention if the two states want to go that far.

20. She is stupid 'cause she thinks she is..
No one's stopping her yet..

"Hillary's latest greatest strategy is to convince her followers that they were robbed of their nomination because "elites" in Washington, including the Democratic elites (read: Superdelegates), hate women (I guess that's news to Nancy Pelosi). Now, what possible reason is there for Hillary to latch on to this new strategy? Because she's planning on leaving the election in the next 3 weeks and ending things on a high note? Because she thinks she can win 90% of the vote and 90% of the remaining Superdelegates by telling Democrats that they're a bunch of bigots? Hillary has stopped the personal attacks against Obama, but that wasn't because she finally realized she can't win, and that in the meantime she was simply hurting the party. Hillary stopped attacking Obama because she realized that she can't win BY ATTACKING OBAMA. She's found a new foil, sexism, and she has a new plan she's going to ride all the way to the convention. And she's told us as much all along, but no one wanted to believe her."

25. Agreed.
She's annoying the shit out of many of us, but I think some people are a little too worried about it. The defeatist attitudes surrounding this are going to do us more damage in November then she actually will. IMHO.

Meaning if they don't get the answer they want, they will be taking it to the convention.
