If you think there is a Woman who would be a better VP than Hillary...

THERE IS!

KATHLEEN SEBELIUS:

More experienced.

More effective.

More... (you get the picture).

http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/709485/election_2008_kathleen_sebelius_for.html

While it seems premature to discuss possible Democratic vice presidential candidates, a few names are circulating as possibilities. Kathleen Sebelius, the current governor of Kansas, is one of those named as a possible running mate. From what I have researched she appears to be a better candidate for Barack Obama than Hillary Clinton.

Sebelius's Strengths

First and foremost, Kathleen Sebelius would bring experience to the Democratic ticket. She was elected to the Kansas House of Representatives in 1986 and served for eight years. She left the House to run for state insurance commissioner and was the first Democrat to win the office in over 100 years. She is credited with bringing the insurance commission out from under the heavy influence of insurers. She refused to take any contributions to her campaign from insurance companies.

In 2002, Sebelius ran for governor in a political climate that was sharply divided. The moderate and conservative Republicans were separated over certain issues and thanks to that, Sebelius won a fairly easy victory. During her tenure as governor, the economy and jobs have increased after being at an all-time low...

4. Blanche Lincoln is preferable
Edited on Wed May-21-08 01:24 PM by phillysuse
Younger - generational change - she is 48
White woman from Arkansas with a GENUINE accent
Youngest woman ever elected to the US Senate
6 years in the House
10 in the Senate
More Washington legislative experience than Barack and Hillary combined.
Has twin sons but they are younger and they did not sell inappropriate board games.
Husband is an infertility specialist in Virginia
Co-founder of Blue Dog coalition - gets conservative rural southern/midwestern democrats
Major interests in Congress are
1. agriculture
2. food
3. energy
4. health care

Given the association between agriculture, food and energy these days, she is on the cutting edge of major rural domestic policy.
Very active in rural issues.

Finally the bumper sticker

Obama/Lincoln versus Obama/Sebelius

Perfect for Hillary's Low Information Voters

No further comment.

8. because of the hope
that it will make the Hillary supporters shut up and support the ticket.

Also it works as a coat of whitewash over our blatant sexism. :hide:

12. blatant sexism?
I can think of at least 10 women who I would probably vote for over Barack Obama. I know I am not alone.

Why is it sexist that Hillary isn't one of them?

9. No. Her response to the SOTU was completely ineffective
She didn't even sound like a Democrat at the beginning of it. She sounded as if she just wanted to conciliate Republicans. I was not impressed in the least.
