Why haven't more Superdelegates started picking Obama? |
|
Since Sen. Obama clinched the majority of pledged delegates I can only find that he has picked up two and Sen. Clinton has picked up one.

2. The effect of a flood to Obama by supes runs the risk of creating a |
|
sympathetic backlash (and issue) for Clinton.
Death by a thousand cuts is just as final in the long run.
The supes have known for some many weeks that Obama is the nominee.

two weeks is plenty of time to control the heat on the stove to "see what's cooking".

14. Exactly, at this point they don't want to create the impression |
|
that they're shutting the process down before it's had an opportunity to play out.
Plus, they're all politicians. If there's no political benefit to comming out now, they're not going to do it. Everyone knows who's won this thing, even Hillary.

They've even thrown in ZIMBABWE as an analogy to her royal Goddess of Entitlement's situation. :wtf: ZIMBABWE?!?

4. I wonder about that myself |
|
Especially Nancy P and all the other delegates that said they would endorse once one of the candidates got the majority of the pledged delegates. I wonder what sort of mischief is going on behind the scenes.

She doesn't want to tick off the half of her fellow congress people when they are trying to get bills and deals made.

donations.
She's using every bit of leverage she has and I'm sure she is making a ton of future enemies.

10. Looks like Pelosi has backed down. There were about 8 "Pelosi" SDs who were |
|
supposed to endorse Obama after he got the majority of pledged delegates.

I haven't read one comment that said WHEN they were going to endorse.

25. I don't think she's backed down at all. She's going to endorse him, but I think the Obama campaign |
|
is very wary of doing anything that might look like a victory declaration before June 3.

15. Hillary had a 100 superdelegate lead. Obama erased that and built his own 28 superdelegate lead. |
|
Obama accomplished this in just five months.
I'm hugely impressed by his progress. Why are you questioning it?

18. Because the Obama campaign has repeatedly indicated that the |
|
clinching of the pledged delegate lead would be a major factor in getting undeclared superdelegates to go ahead and support Sen. Obama.
Maybe they are just waiting for June 4th.

That's it. The Pelosi threateners, Weinstein threatening to pull funding for the DCCC, Sabin (co-signer of the Pelosi threat) trying to bribe the Young Democrats of America's super delegates with $1 million.

It is simply that the professionals remain unsure about how the balance of prejudices will play out in the nation-wide general electorate.
This campaign is, boiled down to simplest terms, a trial of strength between two strains of prejudice that are deeply rooted in our culture and political life. It is unclear whether the primary results are predictive of the currents to come in the general election, and there is no precedent to guide decision.

26. I'm a Obama supporter and I say finish the last three primaries..and then |
|
start moving toward Obama.
A drip here and there is quite reasonable and acceptable until then...he's got it locked up, so there's no rush, let the people vote then end it.
