Jack Murtha, et al, Sent Letter to House Uncommitted Super Delegates: DECIDE NOW !
Edited on Thu May-22-08 05:02 PM by K Gardner
A letter was sent to uncommitted super-delegates in the House by Jack Murtha and a few of his colleagues. This letter requests that their fellow 50+ unannounced SDs endorse at the latest by seven days after the last primary on June 3 (which would be June 10) to bring the NOMINATION TO A CLOSE.

Looking for copy of letter/article. Just heard on MSNBC.

That letter, plus phone calls from their constituents and the outcry across the blogosphere today (Maddow, Huffington, etc.) may be what it takes to wrap this thing up and get these people off the proverbial pot.

OBAMA
Pledged:1,658
Superdelegates: 307
Total: 1,965

Needed: 2025

1. Interesting
I thought this was what Clinton didn't want and yet Murtha backs her. Hmm.

2. It is up to the SDs to bring this nomination process to a conclusion sooner than later.
The anxiety is strangling the party.

14. i think you are right k
he is a clinton supporter, but moreso- a supporter of the troops. ie, do not send them into stupid wars. and don't be so stupid as to send them to look tough. i'm sure his support is of the- ok, i have to, but i can't wait to jump to the real nominee.

16. Update: What I Could Get of the First Sentence
Jack Murtha (D-Pa) and Robert Brady (D-Pa) and five otherHouse Members to 57 uncommitted.. "It is our belief that now is the time for Superdelegates to declare their commitment of support. To this end, we ask them to declare their support no later than seven days after the last primary.

Shuster states he has looked at the uncommitted list and they are nearly all for Obama.

18. 50 plus uncommitted superdelegates will move by June 10th
That's the import of this communique. They're asking all superdelegates to "declare" by June 10th.
