So I should stay in!"

That's how I read her quote. She's not advocating assassination, but she uses the possibility of something catastrophic happening to Barack Obama or our party as an excuse to say in until June, and possibly longer.

It's absolutely inexcusable if that's how she thinks. This isn't supposed to be about her, but about US.

3. This is how I took it as well...
I cant believe she would say that out loud. So much for all that intelligence I keep hearing about.

4. Adding the exact quote
My husband did not wrap up the nomination in 1992 until he won the California primary somewhere in the middle of June, right? We all remember Bobby Kennedy was assassinated in June in California.

Obama's campaign has responded:

Obama spokesman Bill Burton responded, “Senator Clinton’s statement before the Argus Leader editorial board was unfortunate and has no place in this campaign.”

7. Hillary has aligned herself with the forces of darkness

I thought of that Roswell Beacon cover too.

Hillary's been hoping for a 'rescue' from her hardworking white supporters.

6. the best take yet:
from Balloonjuice:

Pretty amazing. Hillary is now claiming that she is partially justified staying in the race because let’s face it- someone might kill Obama.

Stay classy, Hillary.

9. It was clearly a freudian slip
She is sticking around and deep down, probably hoping something happens to Obama.

11. "This didn't happen in a vacuum"
http://www.americablog.com/2008/05/breaking-hillary-reportedly-invoked.html

4:35PM UPDATE: Note what Hillary's staff said earlier today, before she told the editorial board that she's waiting for Obama to be murdered:

Wolfson and McAuliffe both insist that she is not quitting and will campaign through the last primaries on June 3rd -- and until decisions are made on Michigan and Florida. They say she feels to do otherwise would be letting down her supporters. Despite the odds against her getting the nomination, Clinton aides say as long as people are still voting, there is always the chance something will happen and she ends up winning.

Joe sent me the paragraph 3 hours ago. He was totally creeped out. This didn't happen in a vacuum.
