Chuck Todd: "She looked pained, like someone who realized she may have just destroyed
all the goodwill she spent so long trying to build up."

Buchanan concurs.

1. Yep. She's sad she might have destroyed her political future. That's
all. I'm not giving her one little centimeter on this.

How will they refer to it?

1) Assassingate
2) Assassinationgate
3) Stupider-than-a-retarded-syphillitic-monkey-statementgate?

Makes me think we should take a closer look at her imaginary sniper obsession not long ago.

Hillary, what HAVE you been dwelling on?

where the president grabs a child to shield himself. Thus is the level of her obsession and illness.

37. I have thought of that scene so often with Hillary, and wondered what it would...
take from her to produce that moment, when avarice and greed destroyed a career?

Apparently, using assassination as a campaign strategy isn't enough for her supporters, the DNC, the SDs, and the media.

Dear God, America may actually deserve Hillary Clinton.

39. You can't say something unless you've thought it first...
...obviously.

Which begs the questions, why did she say that?

I think you're right.

Don't forget her fervent support for the Iraq war in 2003. She has a penchant for violence it seems.

20. so true. That's what she gets for staying in. Now the entire world knows she's an ass
The blindfolds surely have been ripped off this time.

Then again, some people are already turning this into a "poor Hillary..those people are picking on her" thing.

People are so dumb- I wouldn't be surprised if this ended up HELPING her in the end.

11. Giving her every benefit of the doubt, the way she chose to
phrase her point was just awful, and stupid.

It does make me wonder after all the grief that Obama took for his "bitter" comments (I got them, I agreed with them, but they were poorly phrased - if only because so many people misunderstood him and were upset) what the reaction to her comments will be...

33. I don't know about that
She was probably upset about the political ramifications, but she probably also felt some genuine remorse. I listened to it and it was clearly a gaffe, not a deliberate insinuation. She probably realized after she said it how insensitive it was...she may not have been thinking about how nervous some people are about Obama getting assassinated. She probably also realized that she may have offended a Ted Kennedy and even though he endorsed Obama I refuse to believe she'd want to say something that would offend or upset him right now.

23. I think that Andrea, Pat, and Chuck
were all generous in saying that Hillary didn't mean to be offensive or imply anything at all and that she was clearly pained and disturbed during the apology (which I don't really agree with, but whatever), but all made interesting points. Andrea said that it is just damaging in that for some people, this may be the last straw in them giving her the benefit of the doubt. Chuck also gave several historical references that seem more obvious (and "safer") choices to use in this context than the RFK assasination.

24. Todd also questioned why not other dates, '84, etc.
Her mentioning this a few times, and always highlighting possible weaknesses for an Obama choice, she doesn't get my benefit of the doubt.

36. WHAT "good will" has she built up? Pandering to bigots?---
She's done nothing but try to destroy anything and everything that is in her way.

Chuck Todd isa fucking nincompoop if he doesn't realize that she planned to say it. She realized before she said it she was taking a chance, but thought she could pull it off, with the help of compliant, willing toadies in the media.

Shame on Todd if he bought into it.

she just lost superdelegates, a possible VP slot, and the election. Hillary doesn't care about the goodwill of the people. She proves that by manipulating her followers and the general public.
