I really, really, really can't stand Hillary, but...
But let's be honest. She didn't mean to say "I'm sticking around in case Obama gets shot". Let's not pretend she meant that.

Why should we be honest about this? Because that's the WHOLE POINT of Obama's campaign. It's an anti-BS campaign. So let's be truthful.

Having said that, there's a good chance she's going down for this. And that would be great. She SHOULD go down for it.

Why?

First, it was an incredibly stupid and offensive thing to say. I mean monumentally idiotic. How insane do you have to be to actually allow those words to come out of your mouth. When you're talking about people being assassinated, there is no room for error. And then she gave that BS "I'm sorry if" apology. Give me a break. There are limits to what you can say, even if you "didn't mean it". After all, she's a politician. Would you want someone who says things like that as your running mate? What if she does it again?

Also, everyone knows that the only thing that could possibly give Hillary the nomination is if something disastrous happens to the Obama campaign. That's why she's staying in. I know, that doesn't mean she's hoping he gets shot. What she's hoping is that some video will surface of Barack Obama smoking crack with members of Hamas. She's not hoping he gets shot, just humiliated by some dirt from his past. That's her ONLY HOPE. How honorable.

On top of that, she's run a dirty campaign, and she hasn't been bashful about taking every word she could out of context, and make all sorts of dishonest insinuations. Live by the sword, die by the sword.

So, yes, technically it's unfair if she goes down for this, because she "didn't mean it". She should have gone down a month ago for any one of horrible divisive things she's done. This is the least of her sins.

It's like when they got Al Capone on tax evasion.

We'll take it.

that is exactly what she has alluded to on numerous conditions. She deserves this wrath.

2. I'm curious what she did mean
She's brought up the Kennedy assassination more than once
and the June argument doesn't even make sense.
What does she mean?

4. She meant that RFK was still running in June
Edited on Fri May-23-08 08:12 PM by Xipe Totec
and here we are in May and people are already whining that it's taking too long.

She meant that it ain't over till it's over.

10. That makes no sense
why didn't she say that.
What does assassination have to do with it.
Why bring up RFK at all?
Her point about here husband getting the nod in June is a lie anyway.
It's really nonsensical stuff.

25. How about you start caring?
That would be novel for Hillary supporters.

She meant she's still hoping he will be killed and she can be the queen. Simple as that. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what a Freudian slip she made....heck half the nation knows what she meant, she's selling FEAR for potential Obama supporters.

15. Of all the possible references she could have chosen to argue why she should stay,
she chose the one where the candidate was assassinated. She knew exactly what she was saying.

34. Do the math. The primary season in 1968 started in March
Therefore the primary had been going on for three months in June 1968. This year the primaries started in January. Three months after January comes April. April is the new June.

3. We have no way to know what she was thinking today, but to point out that
primaries go to June with a reference to an assassination, is troubling at best and despicable at worst.

26. Once more, with disgust.
She said it to point out that he was assassinated as he was celebrating his win in the California primary. Get it. We all remember that he was assassinated during the primary. She connected an event we all remembered with the month it happened, which a lot of us had forgotten, just to point out that it was June and he was still running.

Ya'll know this and you know you're grabbing at straws. It's ok. What goes around comes around, and all that shit. You O supporters have finally done it. I doubt if one Hill supporter will vote for Obama if he wins the nomination. Your bahavior is beyond disgusting.

My Mom used to preach to me on a daily basis that things happen for a reason, and that actions cause reactions. She's right they do. As this fight continues, just remember you could have chosen a different path. I believe O deserves better than his supporters, and I feel sorry that he will be tarred with the brush you wield.

5. But even barring that, imagine being in Ted Kennedy's shoes now
and juxtapose that with her "apology" today and I think you'll see that this gaffe has affected people on many levels. The ambiguity of the statement, in and of itself is reckless and consternating in my view.

7. She has also insinuated that terrorists might attack if Obama is elected
http://afp.google.com/article/ALeqM5jB8n288YSUL-mMk3_2pTlq43xjoA

Hillary Clinton on Monday warned that Al-Qaeda watched US elections, urging Americans not to risk electing an inexperienced president, in her latest implicit swipe at rival Barack Obama.

In one of her most overt plays of the national security card yet, the senator from New York noted that days after Gordon Brown became British Prime Minister, militants planted bombs which failed to explode.

"I don't think it was by accident that Al-Qaeda decided to test the new prime minister," Clinton said here, referring to two devices which did not go off in London and a car which was crashed into Glasgow airport in June.

"They watch our elections as closely as we do ... they play our allies."

9. Her 'apology'
was almost more offensive. She really needed to come out and apologize fully for her comments.

I don't really believe she is sitting around waitng for something to happen to Obama but her remarks were so politically charged that just brushing them off as being possibly offensive was TONE DEAF beyond belief.

For all of the brooohaha that the Clinton supporters have made over Obama's 'cling' remarks anything less than a complete and total apology just won't cut it.

18. Dude!
She did not have to say that, "We all remember Bobby Kennedy was assassinated in June in California." In the context of what she was saying she could have said "We all remember Bobby Kennedy won the California primary in June." But she deliberately injected the statement about assassination to inspire that in some crazy fanatic.

31. I have to agree, even though I am no Hillary supporter.
I know everyone is making a big stink about this, and I was a little shocked when I first heard it, too, but I have to be reasonable and take her word for it that she didn't mean it in anyway except to say that sometimes primaries last longer than expected.

I agree, this should be a no BS campaign, and to imply that we KNOW what she meant, even though she explained and apologized, is pretty much BS in my book. We don't need to crucify her for a verbal blunder. She's losing already. I think it makes us look petty.

it is one of a long line of "gaffes" very unbecoming a candidate for POTUS. You have to imagine her as president making these kinds of insanely stupid comments during sensitive negotiations with a foreign government, etc. She's just not presidential material, and she proves it every time she opens her mouth.
