The RFK comments: will it be the top story on the Sunday Morning Talk Shows, or |
|
a non story? A brief mention and then move on? Or, will they be obsessing to the point where it is the ONLY story. What do you think? By the way, I haven't seen the guest line ups yet, but that could be a clue.

including the press, wants to talk about it much. This includes my politically aware friends. Something about it causes a nervousness and discomfort I have not seen lately. The insensitivity of Hillary's reference to Bobby's assassination will quietly eat away at her reputation. It was a horrible reference regardless of the point she was trying to make.

10. Ahh, good point. I see Maureen f'n Dowd is scheduled for "Meet the Press"... |
|
... and I think it's safe to assume it's pre-taped, since MoDo and Timmeh are probably already at their homes in the Hamptons this holiday weekend. :eyes:

6. I don't get US TV here, so I don't know BUT |
|
I heard that CNN spent LOTS of time on whether kids should sell their toys to give money to a presidential candidate, so I'd bet that they will focus on something like that.
After all, who wants these VITALLY IMPORTANT Sunday talk shows to talk about trivial peripheral matters like the Iraq mess, the dollar in the shithouse, the mortgage crisis, the effect of $4 gas on people, global warming, the increasing acidity of the Pacific Ocean, Iran, the Middle East, the Far East, health care, financing of education or food scarcity? Hey none of that fluff matters anywhere NEARLY as much, does it?
Oh, wait. This GDP. Don't answer that.

14. In that case, I guess I'm not missing much! |
|
A bunch of opinionated blowhards shouting at each other, right? I'd rather have a late leisurely German breakfast with my wife, in that case (besides, 11:00 AM here is 5:00 AM in Washington, so all I'm missing is probably a bunch of televangelists telling people that salvation lies in financing their next new Lexus).

8. Here's the scoop for MTP |
|
I believe I heard Russert say yesterday afternoon on MSNBC that it WILL be fodder on Sunday, however here is the written plan:
DAVID BRODY Senior National Correspondent, Christian Broadcasting Network
MAUREEN DOWD Columnist, New York Times
DORIS KEARNS GOODWIN Presidential Historian
RUTH MARCUS Editorial Writer & Columnist, Washington Post
JON MEACHAM Editor, Newsweek magazine
Barack Obama now says the Democratic nomination is within his reach, yet Hillary Clinton says the fight will go on. And on the Republican side, John McCain rejects the endorsement of controversial pastor John Hagee and hosts potential running mates at his vacation home this holiday weekend.
We'll devote the full hour to insights & analysis with CBN's David Brody, Maureen Dowd of the New York Times, presidential historian Doris Kearns Goodwin, Ruth Marcus of the Washington Post and Jon Meacham of Newsweek magazine
Plus, tune in to view a "Meet the Press Minute" looking back at the life and legacy of former Carter White House Chief of Staff Hamilton Jordan, who died Tuesday at the age of 63. Jordan appeared on Meet the Press in July of 1979, the very week that Jimmy Carter named him to the top White House staff job.

9. Judging by Hardball and Countdown last night... |
|
... it'll be the topic of conversation on the Sunday talk shows tomorrow.
Of course, I actually thought more would be made of Hillary's now-countless gaffes in the past, and was wrong then, too.

Doesn't matter. The only audience that matters is Super Delegates.
Hillary, Terry, Ickes, Wolfosn are answering alot of phone calls today.

just about everyones mind about her motives. People will never be able to look at her quite the same. And I am someone who thinks it was just a gaff. It's a gaff of epic proportions.

16. Of course - it won't be McCain's FOUR bouts of skin cancer since 2000, |
|
and how his health might be an issue. Can't have THAT, no siree! Mustn't discuss McCain's health issue - no matter what!

just as long as the Supers are paying attention.
I think this will make the biggest impression on them.
I am sure a lot of them were on the fence.
Not now.

18. A pattern ive noticed is that if atleast 5 of the 10 threads atop GDP are about the same thing then |
|
Edited on Sat May-24-08 11:56 AM by quantass
the MSM goes nutz on it....so as it stands the answer is a definitive YES. What i mean by top 5 of 10 is when you do a refresh on the main threads page and count the 1st 10 threads.
If it doesnt become one then it will have to resort to the usual teflon John backlog with such stories as his: medical records, wife tax records, Nazi Pastors, no-show GI bill, and the list goes on and on....this guy is a dream for the democratic party if the MSM can just pick up on ANY of his daily seniles.
