I've been trying to figure out why Hill and Bill are working so hard for this... |
|
And one thing that I've come up with (which has probably already been posited before -- but here it is anyway), is that perhaps they have a deal with the Bushes to pardon Dubya and his minions and all their war crimes once she takes office. And that's why they're fighting tooth and nail and saying just any old shit. Bill really will just make stuff up. I never noticed that about him, although my radical right-wing brother has been saying it for years. This primary has really opened my eyes about the Clintons.
And another thing, I wish we could all tell Hillary, "Hey, babe, thanks for a good race. But, yeah... it turns out we're just not that into you."

|
maybe that's the motivator.....

He was happy to hand out the pardons for political gain.

3. Other possibilities... |
|
1. They already promised a whole lot of goodies to their big-money contributors, and they're feeling a little pressure to hold up their end of the bargain.
2. Bill's ego can't take the possibility of being eclipsed by a younger and more charismatic leader.
3. They're just afraid that they're about to lose their political mojo.

4. I really don't believe in a secret deal. |
|
Go for the simple explanation first. Money.
They've seen how lucrative it is to be a former President and I think that's why they've been so willing to "invest" so much of their own money.
I really don't have anything against Hillary and I'm grateful to the big dog for the job he did as President. It's just the best reason why I can come up with for why she's still in.

I don't like to make crazy accusations like this without some degree of evidence. I think this one is a bad of a reach.

6. They're definitely capable of it |
|
and I wouldn't trust that red faced finger waggin piece a shit as far as I could throw him.
But I don't think a pardon would have any effect on an international war crimes tribunal. And yes I realize we don't recognize such a thing but when world opinion demands it, it's hard to believe we'd stonewall their request, particularly when we need so many other countries for so much shit (including the money that keeps us going).

administration IF he is elected are full of it. Obama will not go after them. HRC will not go after them. Hell, the same way Bill did not go after Bush 41 and his administration. It is over and obama would be foolish to even try.......

Would you say that to Obama if it was perceived that he was coming in second in the primary?
Oh, no...there is no sexism at DU. None at all. :sarcasm:

11. I'm guessing the as yet unnamed Clinton Library donors expect some payback. |
|
Plus there's that "I'll scratch* your back** if you scratch mine" deal they seem to have going on with the Bush Family Evil Empire.
Plus it's good to be king.
* scratch = cover-up ** back = BS and assorted crimes

15. You really need a hobby ... |
|
No offense, but if *that's* what you've come up with, you've got too much time on your hands.
IMHO, the best explanation is the simplest: Bill doesn't want his 'legacy' to be the Blue Dress. For all the great stuff he did, he'll be forever remembered as the guy who got a bj in the Oval Office--and that's too bad. This is his chance to reclaim his legacy and restore the Clinton name.
For instance, it's pretty clear that we will have universal healthcare no matter which Democrat is elected. It will be forever linked to whomever is in office--imagine if it's Hillary. The Clinton name would be held in the same high esteem as FDR and the New Deal.
They are fighting to be on the center stage of history.
And, would you really call a 60-year old Senator 'babe'?
