Biden Issues Statement Following McCain Speech on Nuclear Security
http://biden.senate.gov/press/press_releases/release/?id=E9AAC4AF-2058-488B-AEC4-0E3B9B8BADB3

May 27, 2008

last two paragraphs:

“There are three options in Iran – talk, maintain the status quo, or go to war. Does Senator McCain’s statement mean that he has ruled out talking to Iran? If so, we're stuck with the ineffectual Bush policy that has allowed Iran to get closer to the bomb, or military strikes that could quickly spiral out of control.

“Finally, Senator McCain’s constructive commitment to cooperate with Russia on nuclear non-proliferation will surely be hampered by his proposal to eject Russia from the G-8.”

4. I am not sure but many of us over in the Biden group are wondering what is up
Got an email from his old campaign website for the first time in months today (technically from Joe's sister - his campaign was run on a little bit smaller scale than the two that are left!)

6. He's stepping up
for the Dems. I don't think his motives are any more personal than that.

8. But, what kind of whiskey does Biden drink?
Edited on Wed May-28-08 11:25 AM by beat tk
At this point, McCain's words have about as much gravity as those notes that highschool kids pass to each other during class.
I mean, that's what he's doing, essentially.
Using the media to send secret messages to his donor base.

Now, I love a good Biden rebuttal, and I'm really glad that Obama's surrogates are picking up the slack. But I want to know... when will McCain lose credibility with the rest of the country if he hasn't already?

23. I think McCain will lose credibility
when he goes toe to toe with someone (Obama) who calls him on his BS, and presents the proof. I hope.

12. It Just Saddens Me...
that Joe is not our nominee. We would have had McCain ass at this point.

Someone tell me who was more qualified to be President than Biden?

America's loss.

17. Agree, P.
I had our future all mapped out :7. Eight years of Biden/Obama, followed by eight years of Obama.

But I do take comfort knowing that he'll play a meaningful role in the next administration.

16. At first I didn't want him as ANYTHING but exactly what he's doing now
(except for President, of course).

Now I'm warming to the idea that he could be a real plus for our ticket as VP. He'd probably appeal to those to whom Obama's experience is an issue, as well as to moderate Repubs who aren't happy with McCain.

With his foreign policy expertise, though, he's perfectly suited for SOS.

Regardless of how he's utilized in the next administration, he'll do a hell of a job.

21. You almost had no other choice than to overlook him.
Media focus was on Clinton and Obama and SOMEWHAT on Edwards -- they discounted everybody else.

We Biden supporters always felt if people had gotten a chance to really listen to him, they'd see what we did - that he was imminently qualified for the position.

But he wasn't given the chance.
