Will "GD: Primary" change to "GD: Politics" on Wednesday, or do we have to wait till the Convention? |
|
Also, what will happen to the attacks on the democratic nominee Obama?
(Yes, I know this has been brought up before; but it's time for an update.)

Skinner said "until one of the candidates drops out". And I'm sure he said so, thinking as any reasonable human being would, that Hillary would drop out after the last primary.
And she may well do so. All of us who can think rationally, certainly hope so.
But what if she does drag this out to the convention, despite ANY hope in Hell of being the nominee.
Should we be stuck with these Hillbot slander campaigns then, when the contest has been decided by all methods. except for the vain delusions of one deranged candidate and the even more deranged handful of psychos who claim to be her supporters (NOTE - I'm talking the Hillbots here, not the legit Hillary supporters. Anyone who has been here for more than 24 hours knows the difference.)

Since there are sites where you sensitivities could be protected from these *deranged psychos* and which are owned by those you would consider to think rationally, why do you stay on this site?

26. Yes, you will be "stuck" with Hillary supporters as long as she stays in the race |
|
and keep referring to us as "hillbots" and watch us staying at home not voting for the black dude.
It used to be that we were encouraged to vote for the nominee because of the Supreme Court. But the way Bill's presidency, during which he appointed two justices that give us hope - is now being trashed on these pages.

I think we could call GD:P "Fresh scoop of ice cream with whipped cream and a cherry on top" and we'll still see this crazy infighting.

10. Skinner has said there isn't a presumptive nominee until one drops out |
|
technically, that's incorrect. There's a presumptive nom once someone reaches the number of delegates needed. But hey, it's Skinner's site and Skinner's call.

25. Were that true, John McCain would not be the presumptive Republican nominee, because |
|
Ron Paul has not dropped out, and is also going to try convention shenanigans. But, as you say, his site, his call.

7. The administrators of the site will make that decision because they own it. |

So if you really want an answer, feel free to PM them.
On the other hand, if you just want to stir up the shit, do exactly what you did.

8. Actually, with all due repect to Skinner et al, this is a member owned site.... |
|
as witnessed by the quarterly fundraisers. Skinner and Earl G are more like the CEO's who make the ship run, but still have to answer, at some point, to the people who help pay the bills.

and most, if not all of the funding comes from the members. I am taking NOTHING away from Earl G and Skinner, but the simple reality is, this site cannot, and would not exsist without members.

14. I would say member supported |
|
and they certainly have to take that into consideration when making a decision. I am sure they are quite aware of who pays the bills and I would bet it is not the relatively small group that causes all the chaos in gd:p. They have shown no inclination to bow to this group, and, for that, they have my respect and support.

15. Depends I think on whether the supers put Obama over the top as "presumptive nominee" |
|
Skinner said that move would be made when we have a "presumptive nominee", which I understand to be a candidate who has the majority of all delegates, elected and supers combined. After Saturday we should know the total needed and after the remaining primaries on Sunday and Tuesday, once the supers move past that number, Obama will be the presumptive nominee. Whether Hillary appeals the decision of RBC or takes it to the convention would not change that imo.

That's when he will officially be our presumptive nominee. It's going to be an interesting week after here at DU, regardless of when it occurs.

28. Skinner's post on this topic, read here |
|
"Once we have a presumptive nominee, those people will have one week to get it out of their systems. We believe that a one-week transitional period is more than fair for those of you who cannot switch gears easily or quickly. After this week-long adjustment period, we're done.
At that point, the moderators and admins will step in and shut down the primary infighting. The vast majority of people on this site will be glad to be done with the primaries. Sadly, a very small number of bitter partisans will not be able to let it go, and will likely be removed from this community. Few people will miss them when they are gone."
