Obama and Clinton need to sponsor or support the anti-cluster bomb initiative. Who's with me? |
|
It's very telling when we're in a boat with RUSSIA and CHINA refusing to ban cluster bombs. I think Obama and Clinton need to make a stand and show their dove credentials. THERE IS NO REASON FOR US TO USE CIVILIAN BUTCHERING CLUSTER BOMBS. IF OBAMA AND CLINTON WANT TO SHOW THEIR COMMITMENT TO PEACE, THEY NEED TO SHOW A WILLINGNESS TO PUT AN END TO OUR USE OF CLUSTER BOMBS. MORE THAN 100 OTHER COUNTRIES ARE DOING IT - WHY CAN'T WE?

I thought there was a vote on this recently -- am I thinking of something else?
IS there a current initiative?
Thanks for any info. :hi:

2. There is, I believe, a bill that is languishing but has already been sponsored by multiple dems. |
|
Obama and Clinton have not sponsered, but the sponsorship of either would lend a lot of weight to it.

proves my point that in trying to appear "tough on terror" she voted for political gain, not her head or her heart...IMO interesting blog here http://mediabloodhound.typepad.com/weblog/2008/02/hillary-vs-obam.html

I was trying to find the actual roll call of the vote, so it's not a biased blog. having trouble finding it it's Senate Amendment No. 4882... I'll keep looking--but I just ordered a pizza, in case it comes, I'm gone... hehehe

look at your own link
Of the people thinking of running for President at the time (in the Senate) only Kerry and Obama had the courage and integrity to vote for the ban over the desires of AIPAC.

22. And I agree with you - I really can't understand why |
|
anyone would have difficulty defending the vote that Obama made. If you scan the list, many Democratic vets, voted for the ban. They are the ones who I see as knowing the true cost to the soldiers. Consider that if we consider them legal, some soldier somewhere will be given a direct order to drop them.

|
her voting record is what she is all about, WAR, if she thinks it will help her political ambitions...
