1. I don't think she was the issue as much as what Her and McCain
did in influence peddling and shit.

But of course, no one followed up on that.

2. The NY Times story helped rally some conservatives to McCain
because he was being picked on by the one of the kingpins of the so-called liberal media.

and, when the NY Times had nothing beyond that first article, the story died and the denials of McCain and Iseman stood up.
