Well this just sucks
I wonder if this person was an Obama supporter at all. This message was part of the local e-mail list serve for people calling for Obama. They said that they were quitting over this "aunt" thingy. I responded and asked if this person would prefer a McCain presidency....this is the response I got:

I can't come back, I feel as if my eyes are opened for the first time. It began when Biden made the comments about Barack being tested by foreign adversaries and tough decisions etc. Now, Obama scares me as President because he will be Jimmy Carter II, not only a return to the malaise, but his staggering foreign policy naivete. Remember when, unfortunately, Carter based America's relationship with the Soviet Union on the delusion that the Russians would never lie to him? He infamously expressed shock that Soviet premier Leonid Brezhnev lied to him during a "hot line" phone call following the Russian invasion of Afghanistan in 1979. Signals of weakness to the communists from the worst, most naïve president in American history (so far) began days after inauguration and I see the same, but from many more adversaries, under an Obama regime.

What the hell is that all about? Maybe the campaign needs to screen its volunteers a bit more closely?

8. something is wrong with this....it sounds exactly like what I've been
reading the right wingers say for months, on certain sites....IF this person had ever supported Obama....they'd know that HE is NOT responsible for his Aunt or anyone else's status..imo, this person's eyes were NOT just opened...they were never an Obama supporter...just that simple!!and there is NO end to the depth the other bunch will go to, to disenfranchise those who DO support Obama...try not to fall for the crap...there will be plenty of it before Tuesday....wb

I don't wonder. I'm sure he wasn't. Real Obama supporters do not regard Carter as 'the worst president in American history' - not when they have Bush to compare him with. Obviously a plant.

14. The 'aunt' thingy
is stupid. I have relatives I haven't seen or heard from in years. I have no idea what they are up to, if they are alive or dead, law abiding citizens or felons.

Why is Obama in any way responsible for what his relative did. She's the half sister of the father who left him when he was 2 and he only met once after that. Doesn't sound like she would be someone he has had much of a relationship with over the years.

Comparing Obama to Carter is also pretty bogus. There is no proof that Obama will be anything like Carter. These are just RW talking points.

17. Half sister of his father? Then why is her last name the middle name of Obama's grandfather? It
doesn't make sense. Everybody in the village where his father was born calls everyone else a cousin, whether there is blood relation or not.

Send out trolls to reinforce old Republican dogma. -- "Dems are wimps!"

Even though this Republican administration has greatly weakened our country, both economically and militarily.
