What's the mood on Free Republic right now?
Dejected? In denial/deluded? Mixed? Are there people who actually think McCain will win, or is everyone resigned?

bring over here. A day or two ago there was a thread predicting the election outcome, and all of them had McCain winning. One person predicted that McCain would not only win the tossup states, but also Massachusetts and California.

I think it's pretty safe to say they're in the denial mode.

5. Completely delusional
They are smug and think they have it in the bag.
They claim the fluke poll or two that shows a slight tightening are the work of smart pollsters who are now adjusting the deliberately-biased results they've had all fall with Barack up. This is, in their eyes, a last-minute attempt by darn devil lib'rul pollsters to maintain credibility when Joe the Plumber and Sarah carry McMaverick to a landslide victory.

I'm not making that up or cherry-picking -It's more or less the consensus over there.

6. There so many things I'll be doing for the first time in MONTHS on Wednesday...
...and lurking on FreeRepublic is one of them. I just can't bring myself to do it right now.

I'm also going to buy the DVD of "The American President," catch up on my "West Wing" DVDs, and tune in to Fox to laugh at Hannity and O'Reilly's delusions.

One more day. One more day.

13. You're shitting me.
It's one thing to think McCain will win the election, or even that he'll win Michigan. Unlikely, but not out of the bounds of plausibility. But how much Kool-Aid do you have to drink to think you have any chance of winning New Jersey or California?

Are they banning anyone who warns that McCain could lose?

There's a more entertaining saga going on there than the election itself.

One of the internet scientists there came up with a plan to pool their collective numbers to take over Digg, and push right wing propaganda stories to the top of the list. They had secret meetings and set up 24 hour schedules to go to Digg and Freep articles they planted.

Lately they've become disillusioned that their stories sink faster than GWB's approval rating. It's almost like they're outnumbered or something. hahaha

Now when a Freeper posts to rally the troops and go all "eagles up" over at Digg, the poster gets replies like "get this Digg off my screen!" and questions of whether any of their stories ever made it to the front page. (no)

Here: Click on the Digg link in the post to see how bad it's going.

23. Me too.
It's bad fun. Did you see this awesome comment from GIJoel2 aka GodGunsGuts?:

We are the new Digg community. You represent the old Digg community. If it gets too crowded for you as MORE AND MORE AND MORE AND MORE FReepers sign up to Digg, you are welcome to go elsewhere. Or you can stick around and learn something for a change …

24. Utter and complete desperation. Today's angle? Obama is GAY.
One enterprising and obviously under-employed Freeper has begun a thorough "investigation" of Obama's years at Columbia. Somehow, someway through his half-assed research he concludes that Obama is gay.

This particular quote sums up the cretinous gist of the entire post beautifully:

"So... Obama knowingly transferred from a co-ed instituion in sunny Los Angeles with (presumable at least a few) hot girls so that he can go to an ALL MALE school in NYC? Well, to each his own -- but not a choice i would have made at 20 years old..."

If you're looking for 1+1 to equal 2, or C to follow A and B in this fool's idiotic thread, you will be sorely and terribly disappointed.

25. On FR right now: "Obama Youth Camps"!!!!!!111!!!!
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2123253/posts

Some of the demented ravings:

"Big Brother had nothing on the Obamas," write the editorialists for IBD. "They plan to herd American youth into government-funded re-education camps where they'll be brainwashed into thinking America is a racist, oppressive place in need of 'social change.

'"The "Obama Youth" will get a monthly stipend of $1,800, plus paid health and child care, plus a $4,725 grant after their "service" for future education or school loan payoffs.

Obama seeks to fund it at levels equal to the U.S. Defense Department – close to $500 billion annually.
