I'm telling my 14-year-old daughter that she's allowed to stay up late tomorrow night |
|
This is history. This is something I want her to vividly remember for the rest of her life.
I want tomorrow night ingrained in her psyche when she's in her 30s and trying to get Chelsea Clinton elected. ;-)
If ever there was a time when the household "rules" should be allowed to be broken, it's tomorrow night.
Let your kids witness history. Save next week's Time and Newsweek. Decades from now, they'll thank you for it.

8. Hey did you guys have a McCain ad run that was borderline racist? |
|
A woman I was working with at the Obama HQ here in Philly was absolutely devastated because her brother from Western PA called and said McCain ran some really bad ads out there that pretty much were using racism.

There is normally a lot of excitement at school the next day with elections which is something she should witness and I think this year will out do all the other elections I've seen in my lifetime.

12. Yup.. We're having a family "pizza party" in the living room... |
|
for the same reason. The kids get to stay up late and they already know we'll be watching election returns. We'll celebrate together and if needs be..I will let them stay home from school on Wednesday to catch up on their sleep.

14. We're telling our kids already that they're sleeping in Wednesday |
|
so they don't have to worry about staying up late.
When they're older, they must remember this day.

|
And she will be up watching returns too! She is very concerned that the man who guarantees her a free college education gets in. And she says that at that time she will be happy to do community service in return!

Edited on Mon Nov-03-08 11:27 AM by mscuedawg
She tolerated standing in line with 80,000 people for FIVE long hours and then rain for the rally but I looked at her and I told her that even tho' she doesn't understand now...we're doing this for HER!!! Its for HER future b/c SHE is OUR future!!!
I cried with very proud tears...and she will stay up as long as it takes Tuesday night!!! I want her to experience history with us!!
Thanks Scheming for your OP!
