Nixon had 3, at least, Cabinet appointees who were tokens. Romney, the Gov of Alaska, and I cannot remember the third. They were totally ignored and denied access to the oval office. A couple even made a big deal of it before they resigned. But if President Obama made 3 appointments like that, Republican Senators in states where a Democratic Governor could appoint the replacement, we would then have 3 more Senators and could kiss JoeMentom off the reservation forever.
