2. no. that is from 1980 to 2000. There will be more adjustments after
2010 census. So....we'll see. New York is losing influence but at least they are still a reliable large block of votes.

3. I just hate the electoral college because my pres. vote isn't worth as much
and with NY's population loss, will be worth even less.

4. I can see why it's reasonable. it's all about apportionment based on population
so each person's vote should count in at the same rate.

I know what you mean. But you may find that with rural voters you could end up in a worse situation as Democrat if it was popular vote only.

7. Electoral votes are higher per population in the small states
just like they're overrepresented in Congress by having 2 Senators.

Plus the winner-take-all that makes votes in strong red or blue states matter less than swing states (Nebraska and Maine do split EVs a bit)
