Obama wants to know what we'd like to see change in the next generation.
Obama wondered in his speech what's next, what change can we accomplish next?

My answer: Gay rights. Total and complete rights as everyone else has.

I'm beyond happy that Obama is my new president, but a part of me weeps for the gay community who took a big hit tonight. 3 states banned Gay Marriage, and one banned Gay couples from adopting children.

I think this is our next challenge.

Today was a great moment in history, a final reward for enduring years of slavery, bans on interracial marriage and African Americans unable to vote.
We've redeemed ourselves as a country by finally taking that last step in this huge race issue of our nation. African Americans can now vote, marry whom they want and are not only free, but can obtain the highest office in the land.

I see Gay's enduring a similar persecution and i hope it doesn't take decades for us all to wise up and do the right thing.

Ironically, when looking at the different demographics of races, genders and ages that voted for and against prop 8, I noticed that African Americans were a top demographic to vote FOR banning gay marriage. I would think of any group, they above all would understand being denied rights for something they can't control (being different).

This disappoints me, but for now I am going to fully enjoy Obama's election and hope that someday soon we will be taking baby steps to abolish these unfair laws and then we can finally truly be a tolerant nation.

What would you like to see change next?
