My wife is originally from China and our son was born there. He is an American citizen. I am proud that he was born in my wife's homeland in the year her former nation hosted the olympics. Now this. One day, I will sit down with my son and share with him what a historical this year truly was.

I have a brother in the South who is never without his Bible that spews his right wing hatred. And he used to be such a different person. Then there is my Mom, turned 86 on Monday, Dem her whole life and she actually reads the words in the book. A kinder person you cannot find. She taught me long ago to be blind to color and it has been one of my most important lessons in life.

And we are prouder than we have ever been. And no, people were not this excited 4 years ago! Nothing like this and he knows it. And my take on the young people voting this year is that they wanted and did decide that they need to "change" what we as a people have allowed to happen to this country. It took them to add to our votes and elect this man who is intelligent and sincere, not just black. My husband and I voted for him because he was the absolute best person for this job!
