Dear World: We owed you this. |
|
We owed you sanity.
We owed you a thoughtful, intelligent leader to interact with.
We owed you an Administration that will listen with respect and make decisions on a larger basis than "how will this play to the semi-hominid wing of my political party?"
We owed you a nation that is ready to interact on an adult basis. To speak eloquently for our interests and express our opinions with clarity and passion, but equally to look beyond our interests, and to take the opinions of others into consideration.
We owed you an American President who won't creep you out or terrify you when you think of the awesome power he could deploy.
We owed you someone who will re-ignite the great dream that is America for everyone.
It's taken a while.
Here you go.
Thanks for your patience.
humbly, Bright

2. If I could write as well as you |
|
I would have said the same thing.
Been thinking it for eight LONG years. Except eight years ago I would have had to end it with a sincere apology for not being able to deliver.

4. Agreed. High time we started acting more like Europe... |
|
Europe passed us up back in the 30s. Time we started acting like sophisticated grown-ups instead of children.
Wouldn't it be nice if the UN Declaration on Human Rights were made part of the constitution? I'm sure freepers and repukes would be against it, but they don't count anymore.
About damned time.

5. It's nice not to have to write the world any apologies as in years past. |
