I agree that he is a statesman. But he is also a consummate politician. I actually don't have a problem with the word.

He's one hell of a politician. I can think of very few mistakes made in this campaign, a huge contest to the tragedy of errors that was the McSame/Palin(comparison) effort.

Obama is a politician and he is not going to damage getting a second term by doing things that are in the country's best interest over maintaining power. Obama is the best we could do, but he is not to be worshiped.
