Obama OOOOOOOOOH so smartly put one of his three Richmond offices a block over from here (just on the other side of the Siegel Center in the background)
VCU has about 30,000 students. Genius.

2. Two words: JUSTIFIABLE ENTHUSIASM!!!!!
As long as nobody damaged any property or hurt anybody, I don't give a damn HOW loud they yelled or how hard they shook their fists. Good on them. It's been too long coming, this change.

3. My son is a student at the University of Pittsburgh and he said there were thousands of students
(he was one of them) celebrating in the streets last night. There were no arrests just a lot of really happy young people. They had a great GOTV effort on campus and the students came through for Obama.

After citizens heard that Barack Obama would become the next president, there was an outpouring of excitement and at one point as many as 4,000 people celebrated in the streets.

The crowd that took to the streets around 11:30 p.m. was made up of a number of Pitt students, according to police.

The students converged near Forbes Avenue and Bouquet Street, moving down to the Cathedral of Learning and then up Fifth Avenue.

Lt. Ed Trapp of the Pittsburgh Police said the crowd did not do any major damage and he said officers stayed with the crowd as they made their way through the heart of Oakland. "So far, they're just a little bit rowdy, celebrating. They've been very pleasant interacting with us and very friendly. We've tried to return that as much as possible and hopefully it will stay that way the rest of the night," Trapp said.

5. God - right by the law school of which I am a proud graduate
This makes me so happy. I monitored two polling places in 2004 as a 3L and was told that Pitt students were lining up around the block to vote then. I'm happy that they were able to have this moment in history.
