Poll question: What is your opinion on the future of hate radio and cabal "news" |
|
We won despite an onslaught of hate, lies, and propaganda that would have made Goebbels blush. What does that say about the influence of hate radio and fascist cable "news"?

2. They're preaching to the choir now |
|
Matt Drudge was probably the most dangerous right-wing news guy out there because of the inexplicable devotion the MSM had to him, but that took a major hit at the end of the campaign. As for the others, everyone but the wingnuts know that Limbaugh is scum and that Fox "News" is a joke.

1) They are now in territory that is their home ground - not being in power, and able to nitpick at government. After 8 years of having to carry water for a president that was a never ending disaster, they now get to just throw bombs at the people who are going to make hard/right choices.
This is their game.
2) It will be a long drought for them, they will be marginalized a bit. BUT, the MSM is STILL the MSM, which means it is corporate owned. People here are deluding themselves if they think the same chain of command won't be in place - right wing propogandist develops talking point, it trickles into the MSM.
3) It has happened to much now to not expect it to happen again. BO is going to turn things around, we will have some prosperity, people will get complacent, and these scumbags will find SOME kind of social issue or trumped up scandal to get a toe hold.
Demographically, the Rs are in a bit of trouble, but again, people in this country has shown a pretty clear tendency to buy their bullcrape when things are good.

3. Last night I heard Savage making neutral noises over O's choice of Rahm |
|
And the night before, Medved said in a surprised voice, "Maybe he isn't going to go crazy with a wild agenda!"
So I think that they'll be preaching to the choir.
And when the income taxes go down for the working class people in their audience, they won't be charging as much for advertising time. Decent health care for all will be a final nail in their collective coffin.

7. What could either of them say? |
|
They could hardly dog Obama for picking a Jew, although I suppose they could say he was a token.

11. I've never know Medved to say a single positive word about O through the campaign |
|
And Savage rarely has a coherent thought. So they both did surprise me. Not that I listened for very long. But this week I did want to tune in for a few minutes.
They could, of course, go into lying rants as usual. Medved is a champion cherry picker. And Savage just makes shit up. His rants are more like Marc Maron dream sequence bits. So, I was surprised enough to post about it when this thread popped up.

But to make sure my mind is intact, tonight I watched the "Seder vs Maron" broadcast from yesterday. :D
