I haven't seen one good argument about WHY Clinton would want SOS...
Edited on Fri Nov-14-08 01:15 PM by brooklynite
While it's certainly prestigious, foreign policy was alway's BILL's issue, not Hillary's. Her issue has and continues to be HEALTH CARE, which she can play a significant role in by staying in the Senate and working with the Obama White House on Universal Health Care passage. Why would she want to go to State?

(a Hillary voter)

1. Exactly. It's something Bubba is suited to, but inappropriate for.
Majority leader, Attny gen. or Supreme are a better fit for her.

2. If she doesn't like being a Senator and does like meeting foreign leaders.
However, I haven't seen any evidence that she doesn't like being a Senator or that she particularly likes meeting foreign leaders.

4. When this all shakes out, we will learn this is a Media Specuation
story.

Hillary has power in her own right, why would she want to become
subservient to another.

5. I really doubt she will be the next SoS. Maybe head of HHS.
I don't think the meeting in Chicago was about SoS.

6. If she didn't want it, you wouldn't be hearing about it.
It's the most prestigious cabinet position, and it's the one that is most connected with making policies around the world. It's a great position, and she'd do well at it. THAT is why she would want it.

8. That was her weakness in the campaign
In order to fill it, so she can run in 20,er,12, SOS would definitely do the trick.
