They represent Joe Lieberman, whose smiling corrupt face was in every single fucking campaign photograph of John McCain. There is NO upside to this Lieberman issue. I am a proud Democrat who will not contribute another dime to the Democratic party until Lieberman is out of the Senate.

1. Spineless bastards
It seems the people of CT will have to do what our "leadership" couldn't.

2. What would give you any indication that the people of CT
won't re-elect him again if he runs? Seems that enough of them are perfectly happy with him.

8. One can hope
Actually, it was the Republicans of CT who elected him the last time. The Republicans put up a guy with a well-known gambling problem. He got 10% of the vote.

3. I can see upsides
The acceptance of Joe shows the middle that the Dems aren't playing the same bullshit partisan games. The middle/independent voters don't give a damn that Lieberman campaigned for McCain. What they will see is that the Dems aren't like the Bushies and punish dissenters. This will go a long way to squelch any arguments about partisanship from the GOP. After all, Lieberman may be a committee chairman but the Senate majority leader has a lot of power telling the committee chairs what to do.

It gives us one more vote. Even if we don't get to the 60 because of Georgia, we will be at 59 (or maybe 58). It is a lot easier to pull one GOP vote than it is to pull two.

As a hyper partisan, I would never have allowed it. I'm glad the hyper partisans aren't running the show.
