Daschle as Health Care Czar? (TNR)
Daschle as Health Care Czar?

For what it's worth, sources working closely with the transition on health care tell me Tom Daschle is heavily involved in the effort and that they expect him to become the White House point man on the issue.

Though, who knows, maybe that changes if Hillary turns down secretary of state.

7. Thank you. I was about to post on that.
People really should chillax and avoid ill-informed knee-jerk reactions regarding every bit of transition news.

10. Doesn't he advocate pretty much leaving the current system in place
but "overseeing" it with a health board - not unlike the Federal Reserve? I know he isn't pushing single payer.

12. I'm not sure - I haven't read it
although if he does get picked I have a feeling we'll all be digging through it...

11. I wasn't aware of the book
But it's too bad it wasn't his passion while he was IN office. Especially when he was Senate Majority Leader.

4.  It will be Daschle or Sebellius.
Bet on it.

Dean is said to have attacked Republicans too much.

8. The word came out from staffers to Politico....pretty damning words.
Can I prove it won't happen? No. But that was the gist.

9. But Emmanuel never liked the 50 state strategy
and wanted Dean removed as Chair of the DNC before 2008. I imagine he will lobby hard that Dean not be appointed to anything.

5. A reward for his support.
I have no problem with it. Hope he considers Kennedy's ideas and also weighs single payer.
