Let me put this bluntly: Declaring open war against repubs and the right |
would be the stupidist thing Barack Obama could do. And he's not stupid. He's not going alienate millions of Americans by doing anything this stupid. He's going to work like hell to get the American people behind him in the largest numbers he can. He's not going to give his enemies any ammunition, and he's going to frustrate the hell out of the MSM by out strategizing and out smarting them.

4. I think so. There are elements of the left that never had any use for |
him and will do their stupid best to destroy him no matter how many things he does that they agree with. It'll never be enough for them. But those folks have long marginalized themselves anyway with their vicious bullshit against virtually anyone who doesn't line up with Kucinich. Most of the left is willing to give Obama a chance.

5. Well I guess we will have to see how this plays out. |
In the past our efforts at bipartisanship have not worked out so well. All the compromising seems to be in one direction. Progressive legislation such as health care reform dies. But you could be right.

6. Obama said it best on Election Night: |
"To those who did not vote for me, I WILL BE YOUR PRESIDENT TOO."
If we divide the country, we will be no better than the previous admnistration..............let's remember that.

7. I'm not all that concerned with that. |
And honestly, I think Obama's decision to play it the way he is, is indicative of how shrewd he is, not how good he is.

8. Few want open or even covert war, if it can be helped |
What no one wants to see is for us to get rolled while bending over backwards. I'm all for the velvet glove being presented at every opportunity as long as it covers a spiked steel fist that is ever ready to bust heads should the need arise (and it will).
I'm not concerned. Obama is no chump, I think we can chill the fuck out because he's got this.
