I was one of the biggest pro-Obama/anti-Hillary posters here during the primaries.... |

...and I am STILL unabashedly pro-Obama.
Every move he's made so far has been a good one.
Including naming Hillary as Secretary of State.
The threads popping up saying that the early Obama supporters are the biggest critics of him now are pure, unadulterated bullshit.
Obama has been everything he promised he'd be. He is doing and saying the things he said he would do and say.
If you are upset about the moves he had made so far, then you weren't paying attention for the past 2 years.
If you are upset with the moves he's made, it is because you projected something on him that you wanted him to be - instead of paying attention to what he actually is.

11. I know you were making a joke, but there's also a good point in there; |
|
A lot of his advisors and appointees ARE corporate tools, frankly. But I believe Obama is calculating that they are his best bet to get results quickly. If he sees that the results are insufficient, or that the his team is not willing to undertake the necessary actions, I'm confident he'll be prepared to make changes.

13. Exactly. Very well said. |

I just hope people give him time and don't blame him if the economy does not recover right away because it won't. But he has little room to make any rookie mistakes, and I think he recognizes that, which is why he has put so many experienced hands on his team.

3. Let's also remember that Obama has reminded us repeatedly that he will not be perfect |
|
as a person and as a president - so it stands to reason that some of his decisions may not work out.
Good for you that you're happy with all his decisions, but don't expect them all to be 100% successful as you admonish those who aren't 100% cheerleaders that they are projecting deficiencies. You might be setting yourself up for disappointment on the other side of the spectrum.

4. he's the president-elect fer cryin' out loud |
|
he hasn't even done any presidentin' yet.
:P
Give the man a chance. Now if the brother starts talking smack about my people we WILL have a bloodbath with his remaining supporters here on DU, but it hasn't happened and almost certainly won't.
If he appoints Sam Nunn anywhere though, that's the same fucking thing as talking smack about my people, since we already know what cards Sam holds and how willing he is to play them at our expense.
If that's the case then I'll just bite the evil bullet and become a republican for purely selfish and immoral reasons, get my tax cuts, my privileges, go be a little prince of darkness in my guarded gated community and not give a real shit about either party any more as long as they don't fuck with my inheritance tax loopholes, kids, or Swedish Fish. Hell, I might even stop recycling.
I mean really. How on earth are republicans made anyway?

6. I haven't read any threads that are saying that... not saying they're not there |

I have noticed a lot of people that haven't posted since Obama won the nomination... are back with a vengeance, attacking every perceived criticism with flame throwers - baiting, hurling ad hominem attacks and re-asserting the same grossly exaggerated accusations of "Hillary Hate."
I've seen that.
I've decided that I like it... sort of.
Obama's fuckin brilliant
