It's like nobody's driving the bus the Bushistas are stealing the wheels off of.

8. Yes, two days later the complainers NOW say he's being too "Authoritative"
Media circus of talking heads. They do this when they have nothing useful or insightful to say.

11. The Greek chorus is that Obama is taking over early. Seems like they want to tar him with
the Bush economy, hanging it around his (Obama's) neck two months too soon. Meanwhile, someone please explain to me how introducing your team is taking over the country too early?

12. Morning Joe was criticizing his daily press conferences
They said they couldn't understand why he was doing it and that people were going to get tired of seeing him. On Thursday they were complaining that he hasn't made a public statement on the economy.

20. Dangerous is almost an understament,
when one takes a look at where we are today.

They may want to think they had nothing to do with it, but the fact is that they have had everything to do with it. In keeping the populace uninformed and pushing right wing talking points as to what is important and what is not (they loved trickle down free trade economics and hate the auto industry due to the unions)....they have literally helped ruin the country.

22. yes
They are manufacturing opinion, creating reality, not reporting. This is a threat to democracy.

What should we be advocating on this, do you think? An updated variation on the rules that were in place for the press before deregulation?

24. First would be media conglamoration... breaking up the monopolies.....
Something like breaking up this General Electric NBC/MSNBC/CNBC/Newsweek/WAPO type of conflicted ownership that allows these various outlet to attributed various items to each other as sources.
Not any better is CNN/Times Magazine and their cousin Disney/ABC who basically do what General Electric does with its chain of news outlets....and on and on.

Once that is done via a retooled FCC (which I know for a fact, Obama will be revamping)....

IN addition, Obama will do as he promised via infrastructure work started in laying broadband lines throughout the US, which would be helpful in allowing more people to have access to the Internet (those that need it the most are in Red Counties who voted for McCain cause all they had was Television for information).

Lastly, a complete reworking of Public financing would have to come first....followed by introducing a modernized Fairness Doctrine that includes cable television and radio and is tailored for the current times.

Lastly but not least, the election situation and how we vote.

I wholeheartedly agree with you.

We need to keep the corporations from gaining control of the Internet, and need to stop Microsoft's monopolistic practices, as well IMHO.

I love that Obama keeps the press guessing.
