Pro-Palin group -- threatening Obama?
The pro-Palin group called Our Country Deserves Better PAC says this on its Web site:

We won't be subtle or vague - America's future is at stake, and it's time someone stood up to Barack Obama and told the American people why this man cannot, and must not, serve as our next Commander-in-Chief.

http://www.ourcountrydeservesbetter.com/ourbeliefs/index.html

Are they making a threat here? Sure seems like it.

1. I don't see it. Where's the threat?
Looks to me like they just want to blather on about birth certificate bullshit, etc.

3. How in the world...
...do they expect to keep Obama from serving as president? Military coup? Something worse?

12. Amen. I sent a message to this PAC and told them that this sounds
like sedition at the least if not out and out threatening his safety. Someone needs to send this to Keith, Rachel and all the media outlets who will trumpet this "threat". subtle though it may be.

Seriously. What kind of deluded fuckheads think that Dumber than a 3rd Grader Mooselini is better than anyone else?

Why can't these idiots go running to Bloomberg or any semi-intelligent Republican??? No, they have to go running to the biggest idiot their party has ever graced us with.

I have a fourth-grader, but he was still far more intelligent than Churchy Spice when he was in third grade!

Heck, when he heard she could "see Russia from her front door," he rolled his eyes and said, "That's impossible." LOL!

He actually had to correct his second-grade teacher when she tried to say that Texas was our largest state. He knows his Alaska (he's a wildlife fanatic).

4. This group needs to look at Palin's record before they engage in saber rattling.
Supporting Palin is not something to be proud of--especially when this woman is responsible for the death threats Mr. Obama is getting. They have no conscience and are rather inane if they are supporting this woman.

6. Hey, idiots - we just had this little event called an election . . .
" . . . this man cannot, and must not, serve as our next Commander-in-Chief."

He was just freaking elected. Yeah, that is very close to a threat, and may cross the line.

If he cannot/must not serve as president, then what is their proposed "solution?" Or should I not ask?

Then I tried to check out the guys in charge and Calvin Collins, Field Coordinator...still has not submitted a bio...he's had a few weeks to submit a couple or paragraphs. Me thinks his tail is tickling his balls and he nesting in Georgia.

Either that or it sounds kind of like them saying "Come on GOP you have to step it up and stop Obama from getting his agenda through congress, stand up to Obama", except the last part of it (Cannot serve as our next commander in chief) doesn't go with that.

40. gee, let's ignore context so we can all get oogly-moogly about this
Good grief. This is a group that opposed Obama's election and the statement quoted in the OP was made in the context of their position on the election, not post-election. The sentence immediately preceding the one in the OP is "The Our Country Deserves Better PAC has one objective: to defeat Barack Obama in the 2008 presidential election." Claiming this is some sort of threat makes us look foolish.

44. Although this language seems to pre-date Nov 4,
the fact is that Obama is still not officially in office, even though he won the election. So yes, I'd call " ... and must not, serve as our next Commander-in-Chief" an implicit threat that could incite someone even nuttier than these nutcases are to action.

Who are these nutcases? From the link at "Who We Are" http://www.ourcountrydeservesbetter.com/whoweare/index.html :

Hon. Howard Kaloogian, Chairman
The Honorable Howard Kaloogian (Republican-California, 1994-2000) serves as Chairman of the Our Country Deserves Better PAC. A proud conservative, Kaloogian served as Assistant Republican Leader in the California State Assembly during his six-year term in office. Kaloogian has been a leader in numerous conservative causes. In 2003 he launched the historic Recall Gray Davis Committee, which helped recall Democratic Governor Gray Davis - the first recall of a statewide official in California history. Kaloogian made countless national media appearances advocating on behalf of the recall effort, such as this appearance on MSNBC's Buchanan & Press. <...>

Sal Russo, Chief Strategist
Sal Russo got his start in politics by working as a Special Assistant to Ronald Reagan. Mr. Russo has spent over 30 years in the field of political consulting and public affairs. He has been a senior advisor to several Republican presidential campaigns. <...>
He helped Violetta Chamorro win her election victory in Nicaragua. He has been an acclaimed advocate for the pro-American Kurds of Iraqi Kurdistan. And Russo was also active in helping the Ukrainian independence movement to obtain freedom for the people of Ukraine. He now draws a parallel to the situation in Georgia, .... <...>

And so it goes.
**********
The others don't seem to have quite the same RW pedigrees, if they have any accomplishments at all. Some apparently wrote their own blurbs ... no wonder they LOVE SP!

But I don't see the group as benign at all ... especially since they "know" that they are right and anyone who doesn't agree is oh, so wrong. We've seen too much of that already and the results have never been good.
