2. Given that people associated with Obama said she was the top choice... |
|
...and the ensuing leaks most from the Obama camp, I would expect Hillary Clinton is already chosen and they're waiting for formalities to go over.
Obama's team just recently put Samantha Power's in charge of her appointment. Pretty savvy of him.

but if you bet a ton of money on it and you lose, don't hold me responsible!
However, should you bet and win big, don't forget my modest commission

And with HRC in the Senate, she'll be an independent force, which will be the subject of endless unintentional comedy (the funniest kind) from the tinfoil hatters! :bounce:

34. Yes a more preferable outcome |
|
but I think the State thing is a done deal.
Why she wants to give up a safe Senate seat is a mystery.

22. Of course I think Kerry is qualified to be SoS but one question |
|
that has gone unanswered is if Teresa Heinz Kerry was willing to have her personal and philanthropic finances sifted through.
I'm not throwing this out there as flamebait, but the Obama transition team has even gotten the ever secretive who-gave-to-my-library Clinton to open up his books and it's only fitting and rational that they would expect the same from Mrs. Kerry if in fact her husband wanted and was considered for the position.
And, no, I'm not saying that she has done anything wrong or unethical, I'm just drawing the comparison...........

I love Hillary, but I want her to stay in the Senate (where her career is just starting).
Kerry has already had a great career in the Senate. Let him have SOS.

17. I think you've confused "not confident" and "confident not". |
|
"Not confident at all" would be about 50% or 55%
The option at the bottom is where one would expect 0% to be, which is "confident not".

I wish it were just about anybody else, I don't understand why they're going with her, but I think it's a done deal. I just hope the plan is to keep her out of the Senate and doing busy work.

|
I doubt Obama will take the chance with her. Obama was chief of the Harvard Law Review, and as such he is very knowledgeable about the Constitution. I think someone else is given the spot.
