centered, leadership qualities. I'll take it.
I'm tired of the endless tug of war around here about which labels to affix to President-Elect Obama. Liberal? Centrist? Right Center? Progressive? blah, blah, blah. For me it's the qualities I listed that first drew me to Obama and that keep my confidence in him at a high level.
Is that blind faith? Hell no. I disagree with him on some pretty critical issues- like Afghanistan. But whether or not his Cabinet and appointments meets some Progressive/Liberal litmus test, is of less concern to me.
I think he's a person with some extraordinary qualities and skills, and yeah, that leads to my having a significant degree of trust in him.

Having someone in the Presidency the world can respect and work with is a vast improvement over the cowboy diplomacy of the village idiot. How any of the hard lefties can think we can go from * to a true leftist government in the blink of an eye is beyond me. A true Leftist would not be allowed anywhere near the power of the Presidency at this time. I want a leader who will literally make the powers that be in this country wake up in a cold sweat. But it's incremental steps for me. Does that mean we don't hold Obama's feet to the fire? Absolutely not. Lest we forget however he's got a massive clean up detail ahead of him. Part of the strategy of the gop was to make sure that if they lost the White House to leave such a mess behind as to thwart any real efforts towards change in this country.
