1. Who is Gregory Know-Nothing, what is Sludge (do you mean Drudge?) |
|
and what the hell are we talking about. :) Sometimes DU is a foreign language. Did MTP (I know that one) choose a new host?

"Meet the DE-Pressed" Guess he doesn't like him either. Although EVERYONE here hates Drudge - so don't ever quote him without used the pejorative "Sludge" :)

I have watched MTP religiously going back to David Brinkley and certainly the late, great Tim Russert. David Gregory as a replacement??? Are you kidding??? He isn't worthy to tie the shoelaces of his predecessors. He's shallow and lazy. He doesn't even know what he doesn't know. He thinks he knows stuff because he heard it at his drunken DC watering holes and cocktail parties. MTP is dead to me until you get a serious newsman (cough - David Shuster) in there.

David Gregory? That's who you pick to replace Russert? Seriously? Unbelieveable.
Gregory is my LEAST favorite talking head on MSNBC. When he comes on, my TV goes off. He's annoying, vacuous, and a total right-wing tool. The only person who should be happy with this decision (besides Gregory) is George Stephanopolis.

19. More than one champagne cork popped at the Stephanopolous house |
|
last night when this news came out.
George is now officially the king of Sunday morning talk.
I always kind of felt when Russert was still around that George's show was kind of sad in a way. Not that he is the best by any means, but I especially feel that during the round table he does well.

21. I honestly can say, I've not watched George's show more than once. |
|
I only watch Sunday morning TV occasionally and when I did, I was a MTP girl. No longer. I seriously can't stand Gregory. He's a right-wing tool for sure, but there's also some intangible quality about him that I find absolutely horrifically annoying.

I read that David Gregory is taking over as host of MTP. I am quite disappointed with this selection as I consider him a lightweight who lacks charisma as well as any real depth and understanding of current events. I would have preferred the novel idea of returning to the original MTP format consisting of a panel of journalists, such as was the case years ago, and which is how the program got its name. In a time when "Change" is the obvious motto, NBC is showing a remarkable lack of innovative thinking amongs the suits. It would have been refreshing for NBC to come up with something classic and brilliant, but instead you have chosen something simple and dull; David Gregory.

My email was straight to the point. David is a right wing tool and simpleton. If he's the host of MTP, this household will not be watching...ever!

I basically said that he demonstates a shallow understanding of and zero passion for history, is not engaging, does not command respect in a believable way.
