I missed 04 and found DU shortly after, but this past year was a doozie. Were you paying attention?

My gods, did I ever need to keep reminding myself who was in charge. And he delivered. So now, the same sentiment applies during this pre-inaugural period.

I've got to go visit an ailing uncle later this month, who my late mom once described as politically two steps to the right of Genghis Khan, and I thought I'd have to forego watching the Inaugural in real time. But when I mentioned to my aunt that I was going to have Mr. H tape it for me she said gently, "We like Obama in this house."

Imagine that!

And my son in law's parents, lifelong Republicans, voted for Obama because Sarah Palin was just the last straw.

Oh. My. God.

I've got tears of joy leaking out of my eyes as I write this. For 8 years I've periodically signed my posts "I want my country back" -- and although we are up to our necks in fascist filth, It. Could. Happen. :fistbump:

But I do think President Obama needs us at his back.
