Say for sake of argument Dean was snubbed by Obama. Why? What is wrong with Dean? |
|
Like what bad thing do you think Obama would have to say about Dean anyways? I can't see any at all.

1. How about "What is wrong with the Obama team for not giving Dean |
|
the recognition he deserves?"

Say something is wrong with Obama. Like his brain. What would Obama's damaged brain say bad about Dean? Is this the question you want to answer?

7. Whatever argument you are trying to make, there is something you be aware of. |
|
Many of us became excited about politics on the national stage again because of Dean and his direct honesty back when he ran for president. So be careful. Not much else has excited us in reference to our party.

8. OK, since we're theorizing here... talking in hypotheticals.. |
|

... a snub has taken place in our scenario.
So, why?
Obama went to Rahm Emanuel as one of his first staff members. They have a friendship that goes back a ways.
Emanuel recruited and ran Tammy Duckworth. Obama backed Tammy Duckworth. I'm not sure if Dean did, but Howard Dean's organization, Democracy For America, did not in the primaries and the rift has caused bad feeling about Duckworth in the netroots ever since. And the conflict between Dean and Emanuel was over allocations of money - some of which Emanuel wanted for the Duckworth race.
And we know Obama used the 50 state strategy to much success but we also know he's all about winning, too. And there is a school of thought that in 2006 money was put into unwinnable races by Dean at the expense of winnable races.
So, if a snub took place, and we're asking why, hypothetically (and with no evidence I admit) the above explanation might be a contributor.

9. Duckworth, who lost by several points, got vastly more money |
|
than the man who lost by hundreds of votes, far less than a percent, in a district here. Duckworth had money she just plain lost.

10. my point wasn't whether she had money, but rather... |
|
... do certain people believe more would have made a difference. Emanuel Obviously does. Obama was a Duckworth supporter and a friend of Emanuel's, so he MIGHT think more money would have made a difference as well. Dean/DFA/netroots in general take the opposite opinion.
This isn't about what you personally feel about Tammy Duckworth but, rather, what may have contributed to a rift between Obama and Dean IF one actually exists (which I have seen no real indication of.)

11. I am not saying losing was her fault |
|
but she got millions of dollars while the race here got either nothing or a paltry sum. So clearly spending on that race isn't why she didn't get money and the only other Congressional race here was Shuler's which Immanuel agreed to spend money on.

The meat of my point is whether Emanuel (and by extension Obama) believed more money would have made a difference. And if that is true (hypothetically) that may have caused this (real or imagined) rift.
It isn't a statement on my opinion of the Duckworth race, whether she deserved the money she got, or whether she deserved more.
