5. Is it just me or does W make every president before him look a lot better? |
|
Yeah, Nixon was an immoral crook, but at least he was competent. when he wasn't breaking the law.
Yeah, Buchanan almost ended America as a country...but, he did one or two things right.
Bush has been so bad he just makes every president in history look good.

You had a lot of really liberal republicans, and conservative democrats. It was less polarized. Guys like Gerald Ford and Richard Nixon would have been democrats by today's standards, and probably Eisenhower. A lot of republicans where pro choice, as well. JFK was quite conservative by today's standards. Martin Luthor King was a republican,as well. Hard as it is to believe.
Basically, people were with one party but often voted however they wanted and across party lines. They didn't define themselves by party. Most people were moderate.

8. Eh, actually he probably didn't do anything right |
|
But I'm still not sure he was worse than Bush.

9. Yup. Nixon seemed nutso and horrible until Srhrub came along |
|
at least Tricky Dick seemed intelligent and competent even if most of his policies were wrong.

12. History has vindicated Nixon....somewhat |
|
I think most people are starting to recognize he probably wasn't the worst president ever. Or even one of the worst.
And, like I said, compared to Bush, everyone looks a lot better.
