Bruce, Bono and Beyonce to Perform at Lincoln Memorial

In case you were waiting to hear who might be singing at the opening Inaugural event on Sunday before deciding whether to attend, here’s the initial lineup:

Yes, Bruce Springsteen will be there. Also Beyonce Knowles. Stevie Wonder and will.i.am. And Bono. And Shakira.

All at the same event.

They’re singing at the Lincoln Memorial on Sunday, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public. And if you can’t stand the cold, the concert will be broadcast on HBO on an open signal (but you still have to have cable or satellite to pick it up).

Apart from those already mentioned, here are more names of what the Presidential Inaugural Committee is calling the “initial” talent lineup:

Mary J. Blige, Garth Brooks, Sheryl Crow, Renee Fleming, Josh Groban, Herbie Hancock, Heather Headley, John Legend, Jennifer Nettles, John Mellencamp, Usher Raymond IV and James Taylor.

In addition to music, there will be readings of historical passages by Jamie Foxx, Martin Luther King III, Queen Latifah and Denzel Washington.

The Rev. Gene Robinson, the openly gay Episcopal bishop who helped advised Barack Obama on gay rights issues during the campaign, will give the invocation.
