Colbert had a good point a few nights ago. |

I wonder if the GOP House members will refuse any of the 'rescue' money going to their districts?
I mean, if they are so against the idea of government spending, they should refuse any of that money going to their own districts if they want to be true to their principles.

1. No, of course they won't |
|
No more than Palin will refuse any of the stimulus funds to build that bridge to nowhere.

8. Obama could offer a voluntary stimulus package so that those |

with moral purity could decline the money.

5. Of course they will. I know my state, FLori-duh needs it desperately. |
|
Crist is doing and saying anything he can to get his hands on that money. AND then the Pukes are up there in D.C. voting against it. You wonder what they are thinking? I know FL still has quite a few pukes representing districts up there, mine included. I blasted my puke rep. I said, you might not like a lot of the spending, but FL is in desperate needs of funds. Our schools, social services, and infrastructure projects are desperate needs. We are about 4 billion short, and who knows how many people's property taxes will be late or not there at all. We are number 2 in home forclosures in the country. It will take years to sell the many homes sitting on the market. I'm wondering if they actually wish a hurricane to come through and wipe some of these home out, so home building crews can be employed again... Then again, most of FL is on Citizens Ins, and a giant claim against the State run Ins would bankrupt the state... (that's another thing, if ins. companies won't cover homes, why doesn't FL open up Citizens ins to cover car ins and life ins country wide? At least then, we could compete on the open market with the other ins companies, probably offer a nice discount, esp to FL residents, and have a fund that makes money, rather than being a tax burden.)

6. The good thing is that we'll be able to track who gets how much and for what projects |

It could be the daily news for our favorite talking heads to cover on radio, tv and print. There won't be any escaping that their districts/states are benefiting.
Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide. :D

presently having a very tough time with power outages due to ice. Ole Mitch turtle head might have a come to light moment if he saw the Governor of Kentucky who was on the news saying he spoke directly with Obama about getting resources to his state. I think he would be rethinking the new power grid about now.

13. Note that red states are pretty much all welfare states... |

I.e., receive more in federal spending than they pay in taxes. http://www.taxfoundation.org/research/show/22685.html
