Warren (Beatty) Warns Arnold He Could Be Lunch
Warren Warns Arnold He Could Be Lunch
by Jamie Court

Warren Beatty concluded his acceptance speech of the 3rd Phillip Burton Public Service Award this weekend by warning Arnold Schwarzenegger:

"I'd like to be rooting for you. So I'll say it again. Spend some of that popularity. Do the right thing. Do the right thing, because after dining out at all of those rich and powerful fundraising dinners, who knows? Some 'stooge' or 'girlie man' or 'loser' may just pop up out of nowhere and eat you for lunch."

2. well.....
Unless we get recall or some strong
Dem comes out of hiding...Arnie smelled
before the recall election and people
didn't care...they voted for his artificial
muscles.

15. I can dream, can't I?
I think more and more people are criticizing him. I've noticed a trend of late in the papers and news, he's not getting the glowing press of a movie star anymore. He's made some rude mistakes and missteps and has insulted teachers and nurses. He's backed into a corner, because it's hard to be disparaging about nurses and teachers.

I think the novely of having a "governator" is wearing off.

16. Arnie certainly didn't get good press on LA Times front page today
Wed's LA Times headline:
"Gov. Faces Widening Network of Opposition"

good.

a group fighting Arnie taking funds through
"Citizens to Save California" is
http://www.restofus.org

Yahoo and thanks to that group. Real DUers.

3. Hardball just played the Beatty clip sans the last part
snip
"Do the right thing, because after dining out at all of those rich and powerful fundraising dinners, who knows? Some 'stooge' or 'girlie man' or 'loser' may just pop up out of nowhere and eat you for lunch."

Arnie's lying through his teeth and
avoiding answering, but Matthews doesn't know the difference.
You'd think some smart Stanford students
would be able to parse Arnie's statements.
They must have cleared out Hoover Institute
for this audience.

whore media.

13. You know, you probably could
except...

with my experience producing and then airing radio spots like this, I've come to realize the biggest problem is finding an outlet to take it on.

You'd have to find a VERY sympathetic billboard company.

8. Arnie says name calling is just his way of injecting fun
into politics.
Yeah, he probably thought those women he groped
were enjoying themselves also.

11. If anybody is curious
According to the IMDb, the views expressed by Senator Jay Billington Bulworth in Bulworth are Beatty's.

Beatty will be 68 years old on March 30.

Having said that, I know no reason to think he'd be a good governor. On the other hand, I know of no reason to say Arnold Schwarzennegger is a good governor.

14. I'd take Warren over Arnie any day
If lighting wasn't an issue in every
press conference that is...

I know the Dems who have made politics
their careers...working up from the very
bottom of working on campaigns resent
that people with other careers step so
easily into elections, but frankly
some of the career pols are so entrenched
in the parties themselves, that few take
risks.

Now Arnie promised he'd change the way things
were getting done, but he's just been the
front man for Pete Wilson and minions.
He broke his campaign promises to everyone
who voted for him and those of us who didn't.
