Spooky...Martin over Wyatt for Board of Ed |
|
Yeah...I know this is about Repub candidates, but there was no Dem candidate. Kathy Martin will try and minimize evolution and push for teaching creation in science classrooms.
Wyatt was the incumbent and very clearly stated his support for evolution only and not returning to the dark days of 1999 on the Board of Ed.
Also....severe wingnut alert that former House Speaker Shari Weber defeated Bill Kassebaum in the Repub primary. She's spent the last two years as the chief lobbyist in Topeka for the bankers after losing two years ago.
Hard work for Dem candidates is in order....
As Thomas Frank says...What's the Matter with Kansas?

1. One thing wrong with Kansas is |
|
that it's very hard to persuade Democrats to run. Another problem is that Democrats insist on registering as Republicans so they can vote in the Republican primary. It continually undermines the possibility of true Democratic strength, because then the ones who actually register as Democrats think there are even fewer of them than there are.

2. What's the turnout like? |

Is 25% in the ballpark? It's no secret about how these things are won...in the primary.

3. It was about 22% in Sedg. Co. |

The real problem I see is in Judge races. The Republicans pick our judges because they are all R's and the vote is all done in the primary.
