180 degrees turn by the strib editorial |
|
I remember 4 years ago, after that caucus, the strib editorial gleefully commented that there was a hight voter turn out for the caucuses (in pre-2008 criteria) so the system should stay as is.
Now, yesterday, it calls for primary for all the reasons that every one has said. What was amazing to me - as I have been ranting about it on these pages for years - it calls for a primary in June to vote for senate and congressional nominees and dump the party endorsements!

1. If we go to a primary for state races |
|
we will most likely always wind up with the candidate who has the most money, the most name recognition, the slickest ad campaign and the DSCC or DCCC behind him or her. It will make it even harder for candidates like Nelso-Pallmeyer to get anywhere.
