Did anyone else here catch which network referred to the Red Lake shooting

as the "Minnesota Massacre"? I went into such a frothing at the mouth tirade when I heard them say that (accompanied by a graphic with the same words) that I can't remember. Now, that I'm calm enough to write a semi-coherant letter of complaint about their insensitivity, I'd like to know who to send it to. Did anyone else see it?

I can't believe these numbskulls couldn't figure out that "massacre" is a fairly loaded word in this context. In American history, the word was generally used to describe a fight the Indians had won (if the white guys won it was always a "battle" - even Sand Creek was called a "battle"). And, of course, for a long time the 1862 Dakota fight was referred to as the "Minnesota Massacre". How can the media be so stupid?

I want to say Anderson Cooper 360, because I only watch 2 news shows every night, and it was either 360 or Countdown with Keith Olbermann.

these days are not expected to actually know anything about history. How many of them would even know what 'Sand Creek' refers to?

Still, I'm surprised they didn't say 'bloodbath'. Much more graphic.
