Poll question: How many TX DU folks participated in Stop war activities last weekend |
|
Please let us know what events you attended to stop the war in Iraq- in the Dallas Air America group alone we had 16 people in DC - i'd just like to know how many DUers went to DC or attended a local event! Thanks, Nancy cunningb@flash.net

Couldn't attend either D.C. or locally. I had a work related event that weekend and was out of town. I watched C-Span coverage and read net news reports. I had several friends that went from Austin though. I know at least 10 people that went to D.C.

3. Our Houston Rally is supposed to be rescheduled |

and I will be there, whenever and wherever it is. Unfortunately survival comes even before peace, and that was all of our priorities this weekend.

4. Nancy, your question surprises me |
|
you might want to consider that virtually all of Southeast Texas was consumed by immediately pressing concerns - like a Category 5 hurricane speeding toward us.
Maybe a mention of that might be appropriate in your request for data.

6. i met 2 different group of Texans from southeast texas area in DC |
|
Many folks participated in events - even with the hurrican concerns. I did not list Houston because i didn't think there were any weekend event but i met 2 groups of Texans in DC over the weekend from SE texas !
I didnt think that Rita and its concerns and dangers would keep me from asking if folks in all of Tx particiapted in Peace /anti war activities !

8. There were a lot of us there |
|
but I fully understand why many chose to stay home. I set my family up with what they needed to weather a cat 2 (which is the worst it could have been by the time it hit Austin, if it hit, which it didn't) and I left. If I had lived in Galveston, my choice would have been altogether different.
