When is Murray going to begin her campaign? |
|
I am new to the state. I have been in Seattle for almost a year.
I've seen increasing attacks by the right wing against her, and nary a peep from her.
First, there was that medical liability infomercial that seemed to run all the time. It was full of distortion and lies, and it called out Murray and Cantwell by name...
Now Nethercutt is blanketing the airwaves with ads.
Murray has to win.

I think it is one of those incumbent things - stay "out of politics" (campaigning) as long as possible - lessens the chance of a screw-up.

2. She was at the county convention last Saturday |
|
She gave a real good speach and got a great reception. If she keeps the same energy and tone once she starts talking to the public she will be kicking republican butt.

3. She had her Golden Tennis Shoe awards in Seattle recently. |
|
where she recognizes everyday folks who have done made great contributions, etc. Her guest speaker was John Edwards.
My daughter Abby(19yrs old) was there. Abby told John Edwards that I was glad he ran if for no other reason than we needed a candidate who did not have an accent. (yall)
Patty said that she was told that she could never be in the Senate because she was just a mom in tennis shoes (her campaign theme) and besides she was too short. She says she is now the 11th tallest woman in the US Senate.
She is really a big suppporter of the Young Democrats in Washington.

4. No one will vote for Nethercutt west of the Cascades |
|
He has no issues, no record of achievement, no presence west of Mabton, and we associate him with Tim Eyman-like tactics with his defeat of a standing Democratic Speaker of the House using a term limits ploy which he promptly disavowed when he'd reached his own limit. When you lose that much legislative clout for the people of Washington state, you better be worth it. He aint been.
Stick a fork in 'em.
